Meagan Good’s One Wish for Christmas: To Play Whitney Houston in Biopic

26 December 2013 2:55 PM, PST | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Almost as soon as Whitney Houston died in February 2012, the blogosphere erupted with stories that pondered who could play the famed singer in a biopic, which is considered Hollywood’s highest post-mortem tribute. Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Vivica A. Fox and Houston’s “Sparkle” co-star Jordin Sparks were immediately rumored for the so-called “short-list,” but now another name has emerged and it’s a pretty “good” choice. Veteran actress Meagan Good, who currently stars opposite Will Ferrell in “Anchorman 2,” recently told the La Times that not only is a Whitney Houston biopic her “dream project,” but she had been discussing a potential film. »

Film Face-off: 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' vs. 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues'

24 December 2013 | Movies.com | See recent Movies.com news »

Is a sequel, just like milk, a bad choice? The mustache, the burgundy suit and that salon-quality hair are back. So is Baxter. We all wanted this, but with a sequel, you never know if you're going to leave happy. Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Christina Applegate return for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, and thankfully, it is funny. But does the continuing legend live up to the legend? That's what you are all wondering. Can the '70s Burgundy compete with the '80s Burgundy? Does the new blood (Kristin Wiig, James Marsden and Meagan Good) add to the laughs or just get in the way? Well, we're going to find out in this week's Film Face-off with Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy vs. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. &nbsp...

Second Opinion - Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013)

23 December 2013 1:20 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, 2013.

Directed by Adam McKay.

Starring Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Fred Willard, Chris Parnell, Vince Vaughn, Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, Dylan Baker, Greg Kinnear, and Meagan Good.

Synopsis:

With the 70s behind him, San Diego's top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy, returns to take New York's first 24-hour news channel by storm.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy had a budget of $26 million and made $95 million at the global box office, but found a cult following on DVD which gradually found a wider audience as its stars gained popularity. The fact that not one comedy featuring Will Ferrell, Steve Carell or Paul Rudd has even come close to hitting the comedic genius of that small, little known film from 2004 serves as both a testament to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and an indictment to the wasted talent which followed in the nine years since. »

It opened big on Wednesday with $8.1 million including $2.3 million from Tuesday night previews. 'The Hobbit 2' to Top 'Anchorman 2' at the North American Box Office?

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ weekend box office: Will Ferrell comedy likely to trail ‘The Hobbit 2′ in North America (photo: Ron Burgundy aka Will Ferrell in ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’) Some pundits had been expecting Will Ferrell’s sequel to his "classic" (between quotes) 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy to reach a $50-60 million cume at the North American box office by Sunday evening, December 22, 2013. However, the way things are going, chances are Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, currently at 3,507 theaters, will collect a considerably less legendary amount after taking in a solid — though hardly outstanding — $8.7 million on Friday. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues‘ domestic box office cume after three days is an estimated $21.94 million. Reportedly budgeted at $50 million, or about 60% costlier than the 2004 original once adjusted for inflation (actual cost: $26 million; adjusted: approximately $32 million) the Paramount-distributed Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is now expected to earn »

Talk about a 90's throw back!Meagan Good walked the red carpet at the premiere of "Justin Bieber's Believe" on Wednesday, rocking a pair of overalls, black combat boots and a black beanie. She completed her ensemble with a classic red and black plaid button down tied around her waist. The actress should have left this Nirvana-inspired look in the past.Another day, another trashy outfit for Lindsay Lohan! The actress walked the red carpet without her pants (okay, she was wearing Very short shorts) at Z100's Jingle Ball 2013 in New York City on Friday. Beauty Police: Meagan Good's Stunning Makeup Helps Us Forget the Bad Hair Day She Must Be Hiding Under That Hat

20 December 2013 3:28 PM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

It takes a lot of guts to hit a red carpet (especially in Los Angeles) hiding all of your hair under a knit cap. Sure, the occasional hipster can pull off wearing a hat with some hair exposed… But, hiding every last hair makes us wonder if Meagan Good's hairstylist is crying over a margarita in some bar in Hollywood for botching Meagan's hair for the premiere of Justin Bieber's Believe. Where the Anchorman 2: Legend Continues star's hairstylist might have failed, her makeup artist prevailed.  Wearing just a sheer wash of cranberry eye shadow, mascara and a fiery red statement lip, Meagan's makeup was simply subtle perfection. While for the most part Meagan's skin looked amazing, we »

See ThisSaving Mr. BanksWhatever our religious beliefs, we should all clasp our hands together and send out a little prayer of thanks that Pamela Travers (Emma Thompson) found herself financially strapped in the early '60s. Because but for her moment of personal penury, we'd all be without the Disney adaptation of the world's favorite sugar-pushing nanny, Mary Poppins. (Listen, sometimes you need more than a song to move the job along.) On the verge of losing her cozy London home, Travers agrees to fly to Los Angeles to work with Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) and his team on a »

‘Anchorman 2′ Takes in $8.1 Million in First Day of Release

19 December 2013 9:24 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Kicking off what should be a solid opening weekend at the box office for Paramount’s “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” the film earned $8.1 million on Wednesday, its first day of release, including $2.3 million in late-night shows on Tuesday.‎

The film is expected to take in $30 million in three days, according to Paramount. That may be a conservative estimate, since the most recent direct comparison, Universal’s “Little Fockers,” earned $7.1 million during its midweek berth this same week in 2010. It grossed $30.8 million in three days. “Little Fockers” didn’t have late-night showtimes, however.

The original “Anchorman” earned $28.4 million during its first weekend at the box office in July 2004.

Anchorman 2″ stars Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate from the original film and adds James Marsden, Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, and Meagan Good to the sequel.

Film Review: Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

18 December 2013 8:34 AM, PST | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

It’s almost not worth writing a review for a movie like Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. If you’re convinced about whether or not you’re going to see the movie already there’s really no need for you to read about its ups and downs or some over-intellectualized take on its place as a sequel and blah blah blah. A movie like Anchorman 2 is almost proudly aware of the fact that people like me are going to judge it in this context and the people involved with it really don’t care. It’s an absurdist farce that strives for laughs upon laughs instead of nuanced characterization or an intricate plot, and will sit alongside the first installment as a movie that you can watch repeatedly and reliably laugh your ass off.

We begin this time around in 1980 with Will Ferrell’s titular character booted by his »

Movie Review: Anchorman 2 The Legend Continues

18 December 2013 2:00 AM, PST | CinemaNerdz | See recent CinemaNerdz news »

Ron Burgundy is back! Just as arrogant and charming as we remember. But Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is strictly for fans alone. It will be completely unappreciated by anyone that does not get the epic nuances of the masterful Will Ferrell.

The storyline is based in the early 1980s and the beginning of the currently popular twenty-four-hours-a-day-news trend. The first station to offer this is called Gnn, a play on CNN. Ron Burgundy played by Will Ferrell is sure not to disappoint his fans. He is of course joined with his all-star winning news team Paul Rudd as Brian Fantana, Steve Carell as Brick Tamland, and David Koechner as Champ Kind. Together they are still as silly as we remember. Brick has a new love interest that is just perfect for him. Champ has started his own restaurant featuring fried bats, Fantana is a prominent photographer of cats and »

'Anchorman 2' Review: 10 Things You Need to Know About the Long-Awaited Comedy Sequel

18 December 2013 1:00 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Steve Carell as an inept but beloved group of local news reporters, wasn't a smash right out of the gate. In fact, it was something of a financial disappointment, especially given the cost and complexities of the movie being a period comedy.

But, like "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" before it, it became a cult sensation as it made its way to home video, and is now endlessly quoted by just about everybody. After years in development limbo, a sequel was finally green lit. And here we are, almost 10 years later, with "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" (for simplicity's sake we're forgoing the pseudo-sequel "Wake Up Ron Burgundy," a kind of alternate sequel that was cobbled together from extraneous bits of footage from the first film and released on deluxe versions of the DVD »

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Review

17 December 2013 11:09 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

If ever a movie could be described as having a ‘lighting in a bottle’ comic energy, it would be Adam McKay’s original Anchorman. More than silly, and miles beyond ridiculous, the film is a product of full-on creative lunacy, a comedy so positively, inconceivably bonkers that the only logical explanation for how it could exist in such pure, unhinged form is that everybody involved went mad on the first day of shooting. The jokes land as hard as they do because there is often no clear rhyme or reason to them whatsoever – the film is an intense shock to the system, a rewiring of one’s basic sense of comedy, and I believe the core reason Anchorman is so enduringly quotable is because the words that come out of the character’s mouths have no business being arranged in sentences together. “I have many leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. »
