Not even just Halloween, special Halloween programming. For me, it all started with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, the The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror and then just got better and better.
Anyone remember Snick or Treat? Each year there was some kind of game or call-in number and you could win cool prizes like glow in the dark shirts, video games, VHS tapes of your favorite Nick shows, Pizza Hut gift cards, a TV, a Nickelodeon jean jacket, and I think they...

In one of the biggest surprises this past pilot season, ABC’s NYPD Blue reboot did not go to series but was kept in midseason contention with a possibility for redevelopment.
It now appears that particular iteration of NYPD Blue, a sequel to the original Emmy-winning series, is dead. It is not being redeveloped, and the cast was released in June.
But it’s not the end of NYPD Blue‘s comeback at the network, which aired the iconic 1990s cop drama series.
“There are conversations about continuing it but possibly in a different iteration,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told Deadline during TCA on Monday.
The recent NYPD Blue pilot starred newcomer Fabien Frankel and co-starred original cast members Kim Delaney and Bill Brochtrup. The sequel centers on Theo (Frankel), the son of Dennis Franz’s Detective Andy Sipowicz character from the original series, who tries to earn his...

ABC’s NYPD Blue revival did not make it onto the network’s fall schedule — and now we know why.
“The main problem was that the bar was so high,” ABC’s entertainment president, Karey Burke tells TVLine of the “heartbreaking” decision to pass on the pilot. “It was a very good pilot. On any other network, in any other circumstance, that show [likely] gets on the air. For us, we kept the bar really high. ABC’s NYPD Blue revival won’t be on the fall schedule — but don’t count it out just yet.
The pilot for the Emmy-winning cop drama’s much-anticipated return will be reshot, our sister site Deadline reports, with an eye towards a possible slot in the Alphabet network’s midseason slate. ABC executives are still enthusiastic about the revival, but feel like it needs a bit more work.
A continuation of the groundbreaking 1993-2005 original series, the NYPD Blue revival stars British newcomer Fabien Frankel as Theo Sipowicz, son of Blue‘s iconic cop Andy Sipowicz, played by Dennis Franz.

ABC is not presently moving forward with its “NYPD Blue” series continuation, but the project is not outright dead at the broadcaster.
Sources confirm to Variety that the network remains high on the project but feel it needs to be reworked before it is ready for air. The show may still get a midseason pickup once some tweaks have been made.
ABC gave “NYPD Blue” a pilot production commitment back in October. The new series follows Theo Sipowicz, son of original series main character Andy Sipowicz, as he tries to earn his detective shield and work in the 15th squad while investigating his father’s murder. The pilot stars Fabien Frankel, Alona Tal, Kim Delaney, Bill Brochtrup, Rick Gomez, Ashley Thomas, and Sofia Barclay.

Exclusive: With an iconic title like NYPD Blue, if you do a reboot, you need to nail every aspect of it with no margin for error. For that reason, I hear that ABC’s NYPD Blue pilot will not be going for fall. I hear ABC brass remain high on the project but feel it needs a little more work.
The pilot, among the buzziest dramas at ABC this season, will be tweaked and likely undergo some reshoots for midseason consideration.
The new iteration of the classic cop drama stars newcomer Fabien Frankel, who sources say has breakout potential, and co-stars original cast members Kim Delaney and Bill Brochtrup.

Maren Morris is a little bit country and a little bit Edm. But when it comes to her new single with Zedd and electronic brother duo Grey, it’s as “natural” as can be.
People caught up with Zedd behind-the-scenes during the music video shoot for their new single “The Middle” — which Target debuted in a commercial during the 60th Grammy Awards on Sunday — and he revealed it wasn’t exactly third times the charm when they chose “the one” for the vocals behind their new track.

ABC has picked up four new series from its sister ABC Studios, including a new drama from Shonda Rhimes’ company, a drama about saving the world (starring Jason Ritter), a series about refugees… from America, and comedy that sounds like it might take a few cues from the recently installed White House inhabitant.

We look back fondly at the innate weirdness of Nickelodeon's 90s show The Adventures Of Pete And Pete...
At some point in the early 1990s – I forget the exact year, but research tells me it must have been somewhere around late 1993 or early 1994 – something unbearably exciting happened in our suburb of Merseyside. The rumours went around the school playground in hushed whispers: “Have the cable vans been to your street yet?” Yes, cable TV was on its way to Crosby, meaning that for the first time, a world of viewing beyond the ordinary four terrestrial channels was available to homes without a whacking great ugly satellite dish glued to the outside.
Aside from the three major Sky titans – the football, the movies and The Simpsons – by far the biggest reason we all wanted to get cable was access to not one, not two, but three channels dedicated...

FX's Justified will return for its sixth and final season in January, and while the additions of Sam Elliott and Garret Dillahunt to the cast recently made headlines, the first teaser puts the focus firmly on Timothy Olyphant's Raylan and Walton Goggins' Boyd. Watch EW's exclusive first look below. It's a reminder that Raylan was ready to leave Harlan (alive) until he decided to do one final thing—set Ava (Joelle Carter) up to rat on Boyd, presumably to help Vasquez (Rick Gomez) and Rachel (Erica Tazel) get to Boyd's new business partner, Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen). Justified, Season 5, Episode 11: “The Toll”
Written by Benjamin Cavell
Directed by Jon Avnet
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on FX -
It’s been a pretty dark week for lovers of fine TV drama, and Justified compounds the issue with one of their grimmest episodes ever. “The Toll” doesn’t do much to clarify exactly what this season has been about, or make the Crowes a more compelling central force, but it at least shakes up the dynamics enough to make for a season endgame that…well, frankly, I have no idea will consist of, beyond the Raylan v. Daryl Jr. element.
Two major acts of violence punctuate the episode, though only one of them really works to raise the stakes. The first, and the most obviously game-changing, is the shooting of Art. Just to get it out of the way: I highly doubt Art is headed for the...

In discussing the Season 5 premiere of "Justified" before it aired Tuesday night (Jan. 7), I used the words "lived-in" and "familiar" to describe it. Depending on how you read them, those might not be the most flattering terms to describe a TV show in its fifth year.
Parts of "Justified" have always felt familiar, built as it is on the foundation of westerns and cop shows. What really stands out in the premiere, though, is how the show has succeeded in creating a world where Raylan Givens, Boyd Crowder and most everyone else we spend time with is surrounded by their past. Old associations, acquaintances and grudges are next to impossible to shake. There's now an almost physical feeling of the past hanging over them.
It's what's driving Boyd in his new heroin business with Wynn Duffy -- he needs fast money to help get Ava out of prison, only to...

A week ago I knew very little about Justified. It was a show that had been recommended to me on a number of occasions since it first debuted in 2010, but one that I’d just never gotten around to watching. I had a vague idea that it was about a detective of some sort, and that an actor I like a lot, Timothy Olyphant, was in the lead role, but not much more than that.
Luckily for me, this week sees the release of Justified Season 4 on DVD and Blu-Ray, as well as the Season 1-4 box-set, the latter of which I was able to get my hands on to put together this feature. I decided to set myself a viewing challenge and catch up with the entirety of the show so far in just seven days. Four seasons. 52 episodes. Approximately 36 hours of television goodness. An extremely attractive, but also incredibly daunting prospect.

Twelve years ago, HBO put to screen a miniseries that was one part Television event, one part historical drama, which had the considerable backing of executive producers Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and the hype of being something of a spiritual successor to their highly acclaimed war film Saving Private Ryan. Through ten one hour long episodes, essentially using TV as a medium to explore a vast and epic journey through the Second World War that would simply be impossible to map on the big screen, and with Stephen E Ambrose’s critically acclaimed non-fiction book as source material and a huge cast representing a collective of real world heroes, one of the most ambitious storytelling exercises the small screen has ever mounted was brought to life. The result was much fanfare, both critically and among the masses, a recurring trope that continues to this day, and the fledgling start...

Justified, Season 4, Episode 5: “Kin”
Written by Fred Golan and VJ Boyd
Directed by Peter Werner
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Et on FX
As a preface, can we just…? Along with the outstanding regular cast (and an appearance by underrated ex-regular Natalie Zea), “Kin” finds time for past guests Stephen Tobolowsky, Patton Oswalt, Jim Beaver, Romy Rosemont, Jere Burns, and Raymond J. Barry, adds the great Gerald McRaney, and even carves out a little for Jacob Pitts to actually get some substantial material. It’s taken a while, but finally, another drama series can challenge The Good Wife for the most ludicrously stacked cast on television. (All the Deadwood alum shouldn’t be a surprise given Olyphant’s producer status, but that doesn’t temper the greatness. Too bad John Hawkes will be busy courting Oscars for the foreseeable future.) If “Kin” went and trotted out that cast list and...

Nickelodeon TV series "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" ran from 1993 to 1996 and won the hearts and minds of late Gen-Xers with its charmingly surreal take on childhood and guest stars like Steve Buscemi, Iggy Pop, Chris Elliott, Janeane Garofalo, Debbie Harry, LL Cool J and Patty Hearst. Created by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi, the show developed a considerable cult following over the years since its run ended, leading to cast and crew reunions taking place in New York and L.A. in 2011 and 2012 and once again last month as part of Sf Sketchfest in honor of the show's 20th anniversary. But is it possible that all this nostalgia comes at an unseen and dark cost? Funny or Die came up with the following spoof video featuring Michael C. Maronna (Big Pete Wrigley), Danny Tamberelli (Little Pete Wrigley), Toby Huss (Artie, the Strongest Man in the World) and Rick Gomez...

The Adventures of Pete & Pete 20th Anniversary Reunion from Michael C Maronna
There is definitely a generation of us adults who are completely bonkers over their favorite Nickelodeon shows from the early to mid-1990s -- "Hey Dude," "Salute Your Shorts," "Fifteen," "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
Wouldn't reunions of those shows be a ton of fun? Well, Funny or Die got the band back together from the classic "Adventures of Pete & Pete" for its 20th anniversary at the Sf Sketchfest in January and above is the video of the reunion.
Nice to see titular Petes Michael C. Maronna and Danny Tamberelli on hand, plus Endless Mike Hellstrom (Rick Gomez) and Artie (Toby Huss), though we're disappointed that Ellen (Alison Fanelli) is nowhere to be seen. The video is extremely Nsfw, but it's still a lot of fun.

The cast of beloved Nickelodeon kids show, "The Adventures Of Pete & Pete," got back together for a 20th anniversaryreunion show at this year's Sf Sketchfest, much to the delight of 90s kids everywhere. But how do the former co-stars act when they're not on stage?
Funny Or Die has the answer to that question in the new sketch above, which shows Big Pete (Michael C. Maronna), Little Pete (Danny Tamberelli), Artie (Toby Huss) and "Endless" Mike Hellstrom (Rick Gomez) meeting just a few hours before their reunion show.
So what has everyone been up to these last 20 years? Well, Artie, Mike and Little Pete could probably be doing better, but Big Pete is the "V-Neck Sweater King Of America!" Not bad for a former child star.

Despite an eerie premise, The Apparition quickly squanders any of the chills the opening sequence managed to create and instead presents a .by the numbers. haunting movie that fails to give the audience one real scare. Written and directed by Todd Lincoln, the film stars Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton, Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino, Rick Gomez, Anna Clark, and Marti Matulis. The film opens with grainy documentary footage of 1973 experiment, called "The Charles Experiment," where six people attempted to contact a dead man named Charles Reamer by staring at a drawing of his picture in hopes of harnessing their combined psychic powers to summon his spirit into the room. This opening sequence is the scariest moments...

*full disclosure: a Blu-ray screener of this film was provided by Warner Bros. for review. **some spoilers are below. Director/writer: Todd Lincoln. Cast: Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton, Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino, Rick Gomez, and Anna Clark. The Apparition is a dreadful film. It seems created by a machine as the film lacks soul and power. This title is ineffective as a horror film on so many levels. The characters are drab, the premise is bare bones and there is almost nothing in this film that creates for any thrills. The Apparition is likely targeted towards the tween market with its PG-13 rating. Even this audience might find themselves yawning at this lackluster production. The weak story centrally focuses on Ben (Sebastian Stan) and Kelly (Ashley Greene). This couple has recently moved into an abode outside of Los Angeles. Their new house begins to sprout mold and dirty...
