MTV's 'Punk'd' is back, officially

19 December 2011 3:00 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The cycle is complete: Jokes about being "Punk'd" will have gone from trendy, to mildly amusing, to passe, and now back to timely again now that MTV has officially announced it is bringing back the series.

Ashton Kutcher is back on board too, but probably not as the host -- he'll executive produce, along with Jason Goldberg -- although the new host is still up in the air, EW reports. Previous rumors have had Justin Bieber donning the trucker hat and taking the reins, but MTV says it'll announce the host (or hosts) during its big New Years Eve celebration. (Other reports have said that multiple celebs will host, with a different star at the helm each week.)

Stay tuned for more details to spill out in the coming weeks, but we hope not too many -- back in the days before spoilers were all over the Internet, watching your »

MTV has confirmed that the reality series Punk'd will be returning to the network, although it is not known who will host the show. Series creators Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg are on board as executive producers, but Ashton Kutcher will not be hosting since he is still shooting this current season of Two and a Half Men.

Learn How the Metamorphosis Will Take Place

8 December 2011 1:26 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

We've been talking about David Yohe's adaptation of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis for a while now. For those uninitiated, the story follows one unfortunate man's transformation into an insect. Today a video surfaced online discussing just how that change will take place.

Nick Searcy ("Justified", "American Gothic"), Matt Angel ("CSI: NY"), and Patricia Bethune ("True Blood", "Mad Men") star.

Yohe is directing from a script he co-wrote with Jason Goldberg. Jeff Laub, Nicole Castro, Cory Bird, and Wade Miller are producing with Goldberg, Yohe, Tara Kleinpeter, and Thom Spitler exec producing.

The story focuses on a 17-year-old who wakes up one morning to an inexplicable illness that transforms him into the unimaginable -- a hideous, human-sized cockroach. His parents come home to discover him afraid and hiding from his new form and are now faced with the decision of accepting a monster in their suburban home or exterminating their own son. »
