Spanish Teaser Poster for 'Predators'?

22 December 2009 8:31 AM, PST | bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news »

Spanish website Aullidos posted the following image that they claim is the forthcoming international teaser poster for Predators, 20th Century Fox's latest entry in the franchise arriving in theaters July 9, 2010. Personally, I think it looks like a hack Photoshop job, so I'd take this with a serious grain of salt until confirmed. Directed by Nimrod Antal and starring Topher Grace, Adrien Brody, Walton Goggins, Laurence Fishburne, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Walt Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Louiz Ozawa and Derek Mears, in this version, a group of humans will find themselves stranded on a planet home to Predators and must survive the horrors they encounter. »

Walton Goggins on The Shield Finale and His New Show AMC Show Rectified

20 December 2009 6:00 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

A few days ago, on the set of Predators, I got to speak with Walton Goggins along with a number of other online journalists.  While we are embargoed  to write anything Predators related, we were given permission to cover things unrelated to the movie.  So if you’re a fan of The Shield and curious what Goggins thought of the finale, his thoughts are after the jump.

Also, Goggins revealed to us that he’s developing a show at AMC called Rectified and it’s “about a guy who spends 21 years on death row, oddly enough. And it’s about the day that he gets out of jail based on DNA evidence and he’s this monk-like character who’s lived in isolation for 21 years. And it’s the way that he sees the 21st century that we live in today. I’m going to play the lead, so that’s hopefully going in March. »

The man who once played Cowboy Curtis on Pee-wee’s Playhouse will join the cast of Nimrod Antal’s Predators.

Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) will play a character named Roland. No other details or known.

Fishburne joins Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Walt Goggins, Danny Trejo and Oleg Taktarov.

In November, Antal revealed that the new Predators will maintain some parts of the original movies: “…we are trying to stay with the original as far as the monster and the atmosphere and the tone of the film, but we are trying to do something new and contemporary and feels fresh,” he says.

Predators arrives in theaters on July 9, 2010.

Laurence Fishburne Joins The 'Predators' Cast

18 December 2009 6:02 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Editor's note: This story ran yesterday, but it had to be pulled for a variety of reasons. It's back now. Fishburne's in the movie. It's gonna be cool.

What could possibly make producer Robert Rodriguez and director Nimrod Antal's "Predators" any cooler? For a start, they could send Morpheus after the four-jawed creatures... and thankfully, that's exactly what they're doing.

Almost exactly, at least, as Bloody Disgusting has learned that Laurence Fishburne is plugging out of "The Matrix" (or stepping out of the "CSI" crime lab, if you'd prefer) to join the fight against the "Predators," the third installment in the much beloved franchise, if you're not counting the significantly less beloved "Aliens vs. Predators" movies.

Fishburne will play a character named Noland, though no other details about the role are available yet. The actor will film his part at Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios in Austin, Texas, where the movie is »

Robert Rodriguez’s Predators is currently filming in Austin, Texas and Bloody-Disgusting was on set yesterday and learned of another casting addition that they’re allowed to share: Laurence Fishburne.

Fishburne is most recognizable from his role as Morpheus in The Matrix trilogy and can currently be seen on CSI as well as in the film Armored, which is currently in theaters.

In Predators, we know only that his character is named Noland and that he is a member of the group of humans stranded on the Predator homeworld, fighting for survival.

Predators is directed by Nimród Antal from a Robert Rodriguez script. In addition to Fishburne, the cast includes Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo (also working with Rodriguez on Machete), Derek Mears, Oleg Taktarov (Ufc fighter), Walt Goggins (The Shield), Alice Braga (I am Legend, Redbelt) and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (The 4400).

Laurence Fishburne Joins the Cast of Fox's Predators Reboot

17 December 2009 10:20 PM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Another fine actor has joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez' reboot of Predators being directed by Nimród Antal as we speak. Collider reports that Laurence Fishburne will star alongside of Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Alice Braga, Derek Mears, and Walton Goggins. Fishburne is playing a character named Noland, but that's all we know. I'm not sure why Fishburne wasn't included in the first batch of actors that were announced. I'm guessing it means he's either only in it for a cameo or a special, important role of some kind. Either way, this is awesome news. I was already excited for this movie, but I'm even more hyped now. Laurence Fishburne is one of the few actors that I love so much that I'll usually go see a movie just because he's in it. He almost always plays an awesome character and I've got a feeling that he's »

Hope his kung fu is up to scratch -  Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast of Nimrod Antal's Predators. After visiting the set of the new, Robert Rodriguqez-produced take on the be-dreadlocked alien hunters, the lads at Shock 'Till You Drop have learned that Morpheus himself is joining the cast to play a tough guy named Roland. It's perhaps less of a shock given that Fishburne and Antal just worked together on Armored, and that Larry is the sort of bloke you'd want around if you were battling the warrior race. He'll star alongside the likes of Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Alice Braga and The Shield's WAlton Goggins. We love the little plot description at the end of the story: "They play a disparate group of people who land on the Predator home planet only to discover 'unspeakable horrors.'" Promo – Timothy Olyphant's 'Justified'

16 December 2009 3:16 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

In March 2010, FX will be premiering a new original series.  Originally called Lawman, Timothy Olyphant's new series has been renamed Justified.  Set in the Southern Us, it's an old-fashioned sort of cop show, with lots of dusty trails and cowboy hats.  FX has released a synopsis and a two minute promo.  And Olyphant is hot.  This is a plus.

Olyphant stars in the lead role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. Givens is a modern day 19th century-style lawman, enforcing his brand of justice in a way that puts a target on his back with criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. That conflict results in a reassignment for Givens to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up.

He is an anachronism – a tough, soft spoken gentleman who finds his quarry fascinating, but never gives an inch. Dig under »
