All the Insanity to Expect From the Final Season of Sons of Anarchy

9 September 2014 9:11 AM, PDT | BuzzSugar | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Sons of Anarchy's seventh and final season begins tonight on FX, and there's bound to be a lot of crazy stuff happening in the coming episodes. In fact, the cast and creator Kurt Sutter revealed a few tidbits about what to expect from this season over the Summer, including a new romance and a small time jump. The season premiere starts at 10 p.m. tonight, and here are all the details, as of the show's Summer TCA panel! First of all, Sutter isn't even sure what the finale is going to look like. While he comes into each season with a blueprint for the story, he always allows room to be flexible. He said he did come in with an idea of how he wants everything to pan out in the end, but that could change. There will be a mini time jump. Sutter confirmed that the show will »

Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight Will Shoot in January

4 September 2014 6:30 AM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

The Weinstein Company announced that Quentin Tarantino's upcoming western The Hateful Eight will start shooting in January 2015, and it will be released later that year. The movie is being shot in Super CinemaScope (70mm) and they also revealed that the movie will have the largest 70mm release in over 20 years.

There was a teaser trailer released in theaters recently, and even though it had no actual footage from the film as it hasn't started shooting yet, it was still enough to get me excited. I love westerns, and this has the makings of a great one.

The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.

Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight Confirmed For Release Next Year

4 September 2014 3:57 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

The Hateful Eight has had a rough start to it's production, with Quentin Tarantino threatening to shelve his return to the Western genre after the first draft of the script was leaked by Gawker last year. Thankfully, Tarantino never went ahead with his threats, and the film heads in front of the camera in January, with Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and Walter Goggins rumoured to be taking part in the tale of eight strangers holed up in cabin during a blizzard in post-Civil War Wyoming. The release date for the movie has been set for Autumn 2015, with Tarantino proclaiming it will be 'the widest 70mm release in over 20 years' with the film being released in the higher resolution 70mm format, with a 35mm and digital releases following shortly after. Any Tarantino movie immediately goes on my must-see list, and the prospect of seeing »

Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight to Begin Shooting in January; Will Receive Widest Release for a 70mm Film in over 20 Years [Updated]

3 September 2014 7:19 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

I understood when Quentin Tarantino decided to put The Hateful Eight on hold after the script was leaked.  It was his property, it wasn’t ready for public consumption, and it tainted the process.  But I’m overjoyed he decided to pick it back up and that it’s set for release next year.  According to Empire, Tarantino will begin filming in January, which means in all likelihood we’ll know the final cast before the end of 2014.  The full cast has yet to be announced, but Empire confirms Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, and Samuel L. Jackson are attached; there’s also the possibility Jennifer Lawrence could be on board. Even more exciting is that Tarantino is using his sway to get a 70mm presentation to as wide an audience as possible.  Hit the jump for more. [Update: Ben Fritz at the Wall Street Journal adds that The Hateful Eight will initially be released exclusively in 70mm, followed by a 35mm and digital release in the following weeks.] Executive producer Harvey Weinstein tells Empire that »

The post-Civil War actioner will be shot on 65mm film and have the widest 70mm film release in over 20 years with the initial release in 70mm, followed by releases in 35mm and Dcp formats.

Richard Gladstein, Stacey Sher and Shannon McIntosh will produce the film and the executive producers are Bob and Harvey Weinstein along with G. Mac Brown.

Jennifer Lawrence rumoured to be in talks for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight

22 August 2014 12:57 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Now that Quentin Tarantino has decided to move full steam ahead with The Hateful Eight – even going so far as to release a teaser trailer, which you can watch here – it’s being reported by Collider that the director is looking to add some Oscar-winning talent to the cast, with Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, The Hunger Games) said to be in negotiations to join the Western.

Assuming Tarantino’s rewrites of the script haven’t added any major characters, then Lawrence will presumably be wanted for either Daisy Domergue or Six Horse Judy, who were portrayed by Amber Tamblyn and Zoe Bell during the live-script read of the screenplay a few months back.

As yet, we’ve heard nothing about the official cast for The Hateful Eight, although Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, James Remar, James Parks and Denis Menochet were »

Jennifer Lawrence and Others Rumored for Tarantino's 'Hateful Eight'

While a largely text-based trailer for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight will premiere in front of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For this weekend, the movie has not yet gone begun filming and the trailer doesn't even list any confirmed cast members. To this point it seems Kurt Russell is the only one that's said he's in the film, but even that has yet to be made official. Now, however, things are starting to heat up as new rumors suggest Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Rachel Wood, Geena Davis and Hilary Swank may all be under consideration for a role. Note, however, these are just rumors and could simply be wishlists and/or publicists trying to get their client's names in the mix. For example, Jeff Sneider from quoted Lawrence's reps in a The Wrap tweet saying, "Despite internet rumors, her reps have confirmed she's not doing this project. »

Jennifer Lawrence Maybe Taking a Role in Tarantino's 'Hateful Eight'

While we've heard that the cast of Quentin Tarantino's new western The Hateful Eight would be utilizing the cast that came together for the live reading of the script earlier this year, it sounds like there might be an addition to the cast no one expected. As of now, the return of Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, James Remar, Amber Tamblyn, Walton Goggins and Zoe Bell have mostly been assumed with no official confirmation. Kurt Russell seems to be the only one definitely returning since he knew that production was going to begin soon. Now Collider is hearing that Jennifer Lawrence is in talks for a role. You might be wondering how this is possible so late in the game, especially with a teaser trailer for the film playing in theaters this weekend with Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Quentin Tarantino’s next blood-soaked adventure, The Hateful Eight, has not begun filming yet but a teaser has already been produced. It will presumably be attached to Tarantino’s good buddy Robert Rodriguez’s long-awaited Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which is due out in cinemas this weekend.

Earlier today the teaser leaked online in admittedly poor cam quality, but who cares? It’s a taste of a new Tarantino movie! Naturally, since filming is yet to start the teaser has no actual footage from the film, but it does do a great job at hyping up the titular hateful eight.

The Hateful Eight stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Amber Tamblyn, Bruce Dern, James Remar, Dana Hourrier, James Parks, Denis Menochet and Zoe Bell, and is slated for release in 2015. Watch the trailer here while you can!
