Last week, Fox Home Entertainment threw a launch party for the Blu-ray and DVD release of X-Men: First Class. The lavish event featured celebrity guests, a number of scantily-clad models dressed up as Emma Frost, and celebrated DJ Paul Oakenfold performing in the Roosevelt Hotel's version of the Hellfire Club from X-Men: First Class. One of the highlights of the night, though was the enormous 3D video for X-Men: First Class which was projected onto the famous Roosevelt Hotel for all of Hollywood to see, even if you weren't invited to the party. Click on the video player below to watch this unique 3D mapping projection video from this event, and read on for my thoughts about this innovative presentation below.

The young actor also recently wrapped production on heralded South Korean director Chan-wook Park's Stoker, which marks the filmmaker's English-language debut. Here's what Lucas Till had to say about working with the acclaimed director.

"I just finished Stoker for Fox Searchlight. It's an incredible script, man. It's going to be insane. Getting to work with director Park was phenomenal. I play a bully to Mia Wasikowska's character. If you've seen any of director Park's movies, imagine that, but in English with this phenomenal cast."

Since this is Chan-wook Park's English-language debut, I asked Lucas Till if »

Exclusive Video: James McAvoy Talks X-Men: First Class

15 June 2011 12:06 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

X-Men: First Class opened in theaters across the country on June 3, taking in a healthy $56 million and proving the mutant franchise is still a viable one at the box office. The story takes us back to the inception of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, with Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and his then-friend Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) finding their first crop of young mutants. Although a sequel hasn't been officially announced, X-Men: First Class is likely the first in a new superhero franchise for Marvel and 20th Century Fox, with a seemingly endless amount of characters who could be introduced.

I recently had the privilege of speaking with James McAvoy about X-Men: First Class, and how he would like to see Charles Xavier and the rest of the series evolve from here on out. Click on the video player below to see what he has to say about X-Men: First Class and beyond. »

X-Men: First Class Earns $3.4 Million from Midnight Shows

3 June 2011 1:31 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

20th Century Fox rolled out its superhero prequel X-Men: First Class at midnight, taking in an estimated $3.4 million from those late showings. That number is just slightly ahead of Marvel's Thor, which earned $3.3 million in midnight screenings nearly one month ago.

It isn't known how many screens X-Men: First Class played in at midnight last night, although it opens in 3,641 theaters nationwide starting today. Some have tracked X-Men: First Class earnings at between $48 and $55 million this weekend, while others believe it could gross north of $60 million. Since X-Men: First Class took in slightly more than Thor at midnight, it may very well replicate Thor's $65.7 million opening weekend, or come close to it.

X-Men: First Class also opened in several international territories on Wednesday, although international box office numbers have not been made available yet.

Be sure to check back on Sunday for the full box office numbers from X-Men: First Class »

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.
