First trailer for Terminator: Genisys

4 December 2014 11:20 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It’s been a big few weeks of trailers with our first looks at Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Jurassic World dropping at our feet last week, and now we have Terminator: Genisys from Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World).

Check out the trailer below:

Here’s the one-sheet for the movie:

There’s no official synopsis yet, but the movie is set in an alternate timeline in which the T-800 was sent back to raise Sarah Conner as a child, who then teams up with Kyle Reese who was sent back to protect her from a different Terminator sent back by Skynet. To say Terminator: Genisys needs to work hard to win back the naysayers is an understatement. Has this trailer done enough?

Terminator: Genisys is set for release on July 1st 2015 with Arnold Schwarzenegger leading a cast that also includes Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke »

'Terminator Genisys' Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Back!

4 December 2014 10:03 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier this week, Paramount Pictures released a slick motion poster for Terminator Genisys, and confirmed another report that the trailer will be released on December 4. The countdown has finally come to an end with our first look at this thrilling sci-fi action sequel, directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World). Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his triumphant return to the Terminator franchise, reprising his role as the T-800, but as you can see in the footage below, this is a much different Terminator than we've seen in the past.

Jason Clarke plays John Connnor, who sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to keep his mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) safe before John is born. Unlike the naive and innocent young woman played by Linda Hamilton in the 1984 classic The Terminator, Kyle finds a much different Sarah. She was raised by an aging T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) she calls "Pops," after »

James Cameron on how an aged Arnold Schwarzenegger will work in Terminator: Genisys

21 October 2014 5:09 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Next summer, the 67-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again return to his signature role of The Terminator in the awkwardly-titled reboot Terminator: Genisys, and franchise creator James Cameron has been speaking about the project during a chat with Deadline, explaining how the aged Arnie can be integrated into the plot of the film:

“I wasn’t interested in producing it or working on it actively, but I did want to put in a good word for Arnold,” stated Cameron, who directed both The Terminator and its sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day. “I pointed out that the outer covering [of the Terminator] was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor he »

Jai Courtney says Terminator: Genisys will likely be PG-13

9 October 2014 11:05 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Terminator: Genisys is not due out until next summer, but many fans are intrigued by the reboot of the classic sci-fi action franchise. Not much is known about the project other than it will retell the original two films after something alters the timeline. However, it looks like Genisys is not opting for the darker tone of the first two movies, and will likely to have a PG-13 rating.

In an interview with The Arnold Fans, actor Jai Courtney – who plays Kyle Reese in the film – stated: “I would love to see it be rated R, but I don’t think it will. I think in this day and age, it’s much more likely to be PG-13. There were no f-bombs. But there’ll be a healthy amount of movie violence.”

So, it would seem the latest instalment of the Terminator franchise seems to be opting for levels of »

Legal and crime dramas are a big part of the CBS schedule during the year. This summer, the network started airing another one -- Reckless. Has this new TV show been a ratings success? Will it be renewed for a second season or, will it be cancelled instead?

Reckless revolves around a beautiful litigator from the north and a charming southern attorney who must hide their intense mutual attraction as a police sex scandal erupts in Charleston, South Carolina. The TV show's cast includes Cam Gigandet, Anna Wood, Shawn Hatosy, Georgina Haig, Adam Rodríguez, Michael Gladis, Kim Wayans, and Gregory Harrison.

The series debuted in late June to just a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.99 million total viewers. That was a very poor start for a scripted series -- even one that airs during the summer months when expectations are lower. »

Production wraps on Terminator: Genisys

6 August 2014 9:27 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It was rumoured about a month ago that the thought-to-be-titled Terminator: Genesis was going to be renamed to simply Terminator. But now that filming has finished and the movie enters post-production, we can  confirm the movie is actually titled Terminator: Genisys.

Genisys, eh?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who reprises his role as the T-800 for this movie, sent out an image on his Instagram account to let the world knew that filming was done. He wrote:

“Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. »

Douglas Smith lands a mystery role in Terminator: Genesis

12 July 2014 1:53 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Thor and Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor’s hotly-anticipated reboot of the Terminator franchise has gained another cast member. According to Deadline, Big Love and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters alum Douglas Smith has just landed an as-yet-unidentified role.

With the film currently shooting in New Orleans, it’s likely that it won’t be a huge part, though I could easily see him playing a young John Connor. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see until the film opens on July 1, 2015 to find out.

Written by Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry), this film is a quasi-reboot/sequel/relaunch of the beloved Terminator property, and is meant to spark a new trilogy. Arnold Schwarzenegger is reprising his role as the titular killing machine, and will be joined by new cast members. Game of ThronesEmilia Clarke plays Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard »

Douglas Smith Snags Role In Terminator: Genesis

11 July 2014 7:17 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

After graduating from the HBO series Big Love with roles in Ya adaptation Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and horror comedy Stage Fright, Douglas Smith is continuing to rise in Hollywood with news that he’s landed a supporting role in Paramount’s hotly anticipated franchise reboot Terminator: Genesis.

No information yet on who Smith is playing, but the film is currently rolling cameras in New Orleans, so I can’t imagine it’s an especially important part. Regardless, Smith is a talented young actor, and it’s exciting to see his star rise with a role in a tentpole as surely lucrative as Terminator: Genesis.

The movie, directed by Game of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World helmer Alan Taylor, is currently shooting. The script was written by Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry) with an eye to igniting a new trilogy of Terminator movies for Paramount, »
