Arnold Schwarzenegger confirms that he’ll be back for Terminator Genisys sequels

25 February 2015 3:42 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Arnold Schwarzenegger has cleared up any confusion over whether he’ll return for the next two Terminator Genisys sequels, saying “of course” he’ll be back.

Paramount Pictures announced the release dates for the two sequels last year, but it didn’t release any casting information. In an exclusive interview with Schwarzenegger, The Arnold Fans asked whether he’d be filming Terminator 6, to which the actor confirmed, “Yes, of course, next year.”

Terminator 6 opens stateside May 19, 2017, and thanks to Schwarzenegger’s comment, we now know production will begin on it sometime next year. Terminator 7 is set to open June 29, 2018.

There’s still no confirmation on whether the rest of Terminator Genisys cast will be back for either sequel, including Emilia Clarke who plays Sarah Connor and Jai Courtney who plays Kyle Reese.

New details on Terminator fights in Terminator: Genisys

27 January 2015 11:27 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

After the first trailer debuted to a decidedly mixed reaction over the Christmas period, some more details on this summer’s Terminator: Genisys have emerged this week – namely on the anticipated fight sequence at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles between Arnold Schwarzenegger’s older Terminator incarnation and his 1984 version, which will be part CGI-assisted and part footage from James Cameron’s original film.

*****Spoilers Ahead*****

The sequence was teased in the trailer, but now website The Terminator Fans have reported that Skydance Productions, the company behind the new retool/reboot/reimagining, has recently ordered some more CG elements to be added to the scene in order to make the fight “more brutal” with both Terminator machines set to suffer some very heavy damage in the aftermath. But rather than schedule some reshoots, the producers will use CG-effects on both versions of Arnold’s T-101.
