Rémy Girard was born on August 10, 1950 in Jonquière, Quebec, Canada. He is an actor, known for The Barbarian Invasions (2003), Incendies (2010) and Les Bougon: C'est aussi ça la vie (2004).

His son has cerebral paralysis.
He met Steven Spielberg for a role in Munich (2005), but because it was a French character, a real Frenchman got the part.
He holds the record of four Genie awards: Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Les portes tourmantes (1988), Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Jésus de Montréal (1989), Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Amoureux fou (1991) and Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Les Invasions barbares (2003). He has received nine nominations.
While studying law, he joined the legendary Troupe des Treize at the Université Laval (1969).
