Tom Gilson was born on January 6, 1934 in New York City, New York, USA as Thomas Peter Gilson. He was an actor, known for Rally 'Round the Flag, Boys! (1958), This Rebel Breed (1960) and Young and Wild (1958). He was married to Sandra Edwards. He died on October 6, 1962 in Van Nuys, California, USA.

Baptized Thomas Peter, Confirmed, Daniel Gilson. At the time of his death, he left a son, Tom Jr., brother Robert and sister Anne. No other family.
Interred at Forest Lawn (Glendale), Glendale, California, USA, in the Dawn of Tomorrow section, lot #998.
Was shot and killed by his wife, former Playboy model and actress Sandra Edwards, during a domestic dispute. Gilson and Edwards had recently separated. His death was later ruled justified homicide by a coroner's jury after it was learned he broke into her home drunk and threatened to kill her and her children.
Was a good friend of Steve McQueen. McQueen served as a pallbearer at his funeral.
Known for playing Elvis Presley-like characters in films and on TV.
Had two stepchildren from wife Sandra Edwards' previous marriage.
Was discovered in 1953 by director Henry Hathaway, who gave him an uncredited role in his film Prince Valiant (1954) starring Robert Wagner.
His wife Sandra Edwards left him in August 1962 after an incident of domestic violence in which he started beating her while she was holding their baby in her arms and some of the blows struck the baby. She moved in with her sister at her Van Nuys home.
On October 6, 1962, his estranged wife Sandra Edwards shot and killed him in self-defense at her sister's Van Nuys home with a 12-gauge shotgun her brother-in-law gave her for protection. Tom was drunk and in a blind rage at the time and had broken in and threatened to kill her and her children.
