'The Vampire Diaries' Originals: Is Klaus going soft? Plus, Rebekah's rise-and-shine

16 December 2011 4:16 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

There are currently 20 days until "The Vampire Diaries" returns to your screens, and here at Zap2it, we're doing our best to help you make it through these cold, lonely times without your favorite monsters/witches/hunters/damsels in distress/etc.

Now, it's time to talk about Originals. When we last saw our new favorite character, Rebekah (Claire Holt), Damon had dumped her in the Salvatore basement with a dagger in her back. Don't worry, Rebekah fans -- her red homecoming dress won't be collecting dust in that dungeon for long.

If you totally love Claire in the role as much as we do, we're certainly not alone! "She has been such a delight for everybody, from the crew and the writers, to everybody at the studio and network level that pays us to do our jobs," executive producer Julie Plec tells us.

That's not the say that they're surprised by how delightful she is. »

Vampire Diaries – Two Brothers for Klaus

Since we’re spending so much time getting to know Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) family on The Vampire Diaries, we might as well get to meet the last of his brothers. Since two of them are long dead, the only ones left are locked away tight in those coffins Klaus are been keeping around. That is, until Stefan took them right from under Klaus’ nose. Now they won’t be locked up for long and the show has found two attractive men to play the parts.

TV Guide reported British actor Casper Zafer (Le Femme Muskateer) and Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic (Out of the Blue) will play the remaining two brothers, Finn and Kol respectively. You can bet they are not pleased once they have been set free from their prisons, causing even more trouble for the cast of Vampire Diaries. They could play a »

'Vampire Diaries' star Joseph Morgan wants Klaus, Elijah battle

1 December 2011 3:57 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Joseph Morgan has revealed that he would love Klaus and Elijah to clash on The Vampire Diaries. Elijah (Daniel Gillies), who is Klaus's brother, was killed with the Original vampire-slaying dagger and white ash in the second season finale. Gillies appeared in flashbacks in a recent episode, but Morgan has now told TV Guide that he would like Elijah to make a proper return. "I'd love to see someone pull the dagger out of Daniel Gillies," he said. "A huge rivalry, almost (more) »

The Vampire Diaries 3.09 "Homecoming" Review

The Vampire Diaries 3.09 "Homecoming" Review

"Were you prepared for this?"

Being the mid-season finale there is a certain expectation that there would be a huge amount of twists and turns and this episode of The Vampire Diaries sure did have all of that. Amidst all the action and back stabbing (both literal and emotional) the execution felt slightly muddled and meant this was a good, but not great, outing.

The endgame was, of course, to get rid of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and they acknowledged that their plans in the past have a habit of falling apart because someone's humanity gets in the way. Elena (Nina Dobrev) believed in this case that she would be that person even if she had shown great deception in daggering Rebekah (Claire Holt). The sadness and excitement from Rebekah about her first high school dance was rather sweet, as was when Elena gave Rebekah her necklace. »

The Vampire Diaries Round Table: "Ordinary People"

Poor Rebekah. And darn you, Klaus!

The Vampire Diaries took fans way, way back on "Ordinary People," giving viewers a new reason to sympathize with one Original and despise another. Come along with Matt Richenthal, Steve Marsi, Dan Forcella and Eric Hochberger now as they conduct a new version of the TV Fanatic Round Table...

-------------------------------------------

What was your favorite scene from the episode?

Matt: The bond formed between Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah. Considering what we had just witnessed in the flashback, and all we know happened between these siblings since then, it was a seminal series moment, one played very well by all involved.

Steve: The Salvatore brothers at the Grill. It's been awhile since these two really caught up.

Dan: Mikael showing up at the bar and putting the hurt on Damon was pretty awesome. He seems to be the next in a long line of Vampire Diaries bad asses. »

The Vampire Diaries 3.08 "Ordinary People" Review

4 November 2011 5:28 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

That was a history lesson and a half as we learnt the origin of the Original family and how they came to be the Original vampires. Having to reveal this much information might have been a drag, but thanks to the always good Vampire Diaries flashbacks and Rebekah (Claire Holt) as a narrator this was far from a bore. It also helped that this amount of exposition was combined with a separate Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) story. This once again showed how great these two are together and how much this dynamic has been absent for most of this season.

Elena's (Nina Dobrev) plan to have a "mean girl power struggle" with Rebekah actually worked in getting her to spill her secrets; of course prodding was needed and as ever it wasn't a simple 'so tell me your life story' kind of affair. Essentially, in the most »

The 35-year-old revealed that he finds it difficult to relate to Elijah, admitting that some of the vampire's decisions have been questionable. He explained: "There was no way that anybody that intelligent, who'd been alive that long, who can murder another vampire, no less, with the back of his hand, who can move faster than light, is going to go, 'You know what? ‘Vampire Diaries’ Preview: Elena & Damon’s Shocking Discovery About The Originals!

1 November 2011 12:29 PM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Alaric gives Damon & Elena a dark history lesson in this brand-new clip! Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are taking a quiet, dimly-lit stroll on the Nov. 3 episode of The Vampire Diaries -- though it's really not as romantic as I'm making it sound. Not romantic at all, actually. Alaric (Matt Davis) takes the duo on a tour through the cave Mason (Taylor Kinney) showed Damon on last week's episode, and in this brand-new preview clip, we get a glimpse of the deep, dark secret someone's been trying to hide. We know this episode will feature flashbacks to the original days of the Originals, revealing Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah's (Claire Holt) "violent past" with Elijah (Daniel Gillies), but the specifics of said revelation are still unknown. Potential Spoiler Alert: A popular theory making its way around the web is that Mikael (Sebastian Roché) is not only an Original himself, »

Halloween Week on The CW: Synopses for The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, and Supernatural

Halloween falls on a Monday this year, which means the holiday episodes of most TV shows are airing the week before, including those on The CW, but that doesn't mean genre fans don't have more to look forward to, as evidenced by the just released synopses of "The Vampire Diaries" Episode 3.08, "Ordinary People", and "The Secret Circle" Episode 1.08, "Beneath", both airing on November 3rd. "Supernatural" Episode 7.07, "The Mentalists", which bows November 4th, isn't sounding too shabby either.

'The Vampire Diaries': Daniel Gillies returns as Elijah

7 October 2011 2:40 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Happy Friday, "Vampire Diaries" fans! We've got the best news ever for you: Zap2it has exclusively confirmed that Daniel Gillies will be returning as Elijah in episode 308, tentatively titled "Ordinary People."

We believe the term you're looking for is Omfg.

After last night's episode, in which Stefan (Paul Wesley) almost opened one of Klaus' coffins -- that tease -- but didn't, we're just dying for a little Elijah action.

He won't be back in the present day quite yet, though -- our next glimpse of Elijah will be in Rebekah's (Claire Holt) flashbacks. This time we're going way, way back in time - a thousand years back in time - to the Original family's life before they were vampires. As we reported yesterday, we'll also be introduced to the Original mother, played by Alice Evans.

Most importantly, though, we're going to get to see what Elijah's hair looked like before he was turned. »

The Vampire Diaries 3.04 "Disturbing Behavior" Review

7 October 2011 2:17 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Every week The Vampire Diaries has moments that leave my jaw on the floor and this week is no exception with some brilliantly executed twists and revelations. This episode saw family bonds tested, secrets shared and one character being pushed to his limits and was coupled with the usual amount of snark and blood spilled. We're only 4 episodes in but season 3 continues to be highly entertaining whilst pushing all the story threads along with ease.

I will begin as the episode did with the Chicago portion of the episode which saw Stefan (Paul Wesley) attempting a diabolical plan which didn't really come together for him. Katherine (Nina Dobrev) warned him that despite his so called 'bad' status he really isn't cut out for that sort of thing and because diabolical plans are her favourite of course she wants in. Stefan of course likes to do things solo and so rebuffed the offer. »
