'Vampire Diaries' scoop: A couple hundred actors have read for Klaus

30 December 2010 12:58 PM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Fans of The Vampire Diaries are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Klaus — the oldest, most vindictive, and so far unseen vampire who’ll want to sacrifice Elena to break the curse that keeps most vampires from walking in the sun (and thereby seal the fates of werewolves to forever change on the full moon whether they want to or not). It’s a killer part that the exec producers aren’t taking the casting of lightly, even if Kevin Williamson did joke with us earlier this month about wanting to just dye Ian Somerhalder’s hair blond. Exclusive: Julie Plec on "Dark Place" Ahead for The Vampire Diaries

22 December 2010 8:09 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Just how many werewolves are coming to Mystic Falls? Who will play Klaus? And, seriously, how many times can we expect to see Ian Somerhalder shirtless over the second half of season two?

These were just some of the questions we asked The Vampire Diaries producer Julie Plec in an exclusive interview, the first part of which we've excerpted below.

Overall, what can we expect when the show returns?

We’re going to come to the end of what we’re calling our werewolf chapter, which will really take that story to a really dark place and really change a lot of characters lives, not necessarily in a good way.

We are going to dig deeper into the secrets of our new witches and what Bonnie's role is going to be in their story, and of course it's all about the fear of the impending Klaus, and who’s going »

'The Vampire Diaries' recap: The longest night

10 December 2010 5:17 AM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

I usually go into writing my "Vampire Diaries" recaps with a snarky and silly attitude, but right now I'm feeling more nervous than anything!

It's no secret that "By The Light of the Moon" is Tyler's (Michael Trevino) big transformation episode, and judging by the clips we saw of Mason's first turn, it's going to be a hell of a night.

There's plenty going on in Mystic Falls that doesn't involve Tyler. Stefan is trapped in the tomb, Elena is still on a suicide mission, and Jeremy and Bonnie and Luka are part of the most lopsided love triangle ever.

I spent a few days with the cast of "The Vampire Diaries" on their set in Atlanta this week and got some fun insight into the shooting of this episode, which is definitely my most anticipated episode yet. Can they pull off this wolf-out? Let's see.

'Vampire Diaries' exclusive: Nina Dobrev talks this week's steamy sex scene (and the resulting bruises)

7 December 2010 11:25 AM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

The promo for Thursday’s midseason finale of The Vampire Diaries (The CW, 8 p.m. Et) shows the unthinkable happening: Stefan (Paul Wesley), now trapped in the tomb with Katherine (Nina Dobrev), giving in to her. If the teaser is any indication (watch it below), it could be the hottest captive sex scene since a certain cage encounter on Lost. “First, Jeremy getting trapped in the tomb was like, Katherine wins! When Stefan came in, she’s like, ‘Wow, I couldn’t have planned this better if I tried. The one person I want to be stuck with, here he is, »

My, oh my.  The mid-season finale of The Vampire Diaries looks like it's going to be Crazy!  If you missed last night's episode you can read Emma's review or Mark's more detailed recap.

Then go feast your eyes on the promo below from The CW for the December 10 mid-season finale of The Vampire Diaries.  With Stefan now trapped in the tomb alongside his ex-girlfriend, it looks like Katherine has him exactly where she wants him - which just so happens to be on the floor, naked.  Yes, Katherine and Stefan will clearly be getting it on as Damon obviously tries to get closer to Elena back in the outside world.

What you don't really see in the promo is that we'll be meeting a new character named Julies (played by Michaela McManus), who comes to Mystic Falls and is connected to the recently deceased Mason.  In addition, Tyler will finally undergo the transformation. »

'The Vampire Diaries' Klaus casting: 9 guys we think could bring down Mystic Falls

20 November 2010 9:11 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Hello, "Vampire Diaries" fans! It's Carina and Tierney, back again -- but this time, we actually agree on something. (There's a first time for everything, right?)

Vampire-Diaries.net dug up the casting call for Klaus, the vampire out for Elena's blood and looking to seek vengeance against Katherine for slipping through his grasp 500 years ago. In order to break the vampire curse and walk in the sun without a ring, Klaus needs to kill not only Elena, but Bonnie, Tyler, and Caroline as well.

According to the casting sides, "Klaus is late-20′s to mid-30′s. He's handsome, charming, intelligent, with a sharp wit. He's the only person who can out-Damon Damon. That's because he's got a thousand years on him. Klaus is one of the Originals. Possibly the oldest. But you'd never know it because he keeps up with the times."

Ooh, sounds sexy. We put our heads together »

The Vampire Diaries Season 2 Episode 10 Preview Gallery: The Sacrifice

16 November 2010 11:54 PM, PST | BuzzFocus.com | See recent BuzzFocus.com news »

There's a lot going on if you're a resident of Mystic Falls. It seems that just about every form of supernatural creature is beginning to surface this season on The Vampire Diaries. Sadly, the latest introduction of Warlocks comes as a potential cock-block to Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) who was just getting close to Bonnie (Katerina Graham). Will Luka (guest star Bryton James) be a potential love interest? It's doubtful that there will be much of a future between Luka and Bonnie since Luka's father is in bed with Elijah (Daniel Gillies), one of the first vampires. Not only is Elijah hell bent on killing Bonnie's Bff Elena (Nina Dobrev), he also loathes Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) latest bed buddy Rose (Lauren Cohan). Speaking of Rose, was Damon and Rose a one night fling? Let's hope not. The two have chemistry and it would be great to see Damon move on »
