Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" is the pop culture gift that keeps on giving. Even President Barack Obama and presidential candidate Mitt Romney are hopping on the "Call Me Maybe" train. Well, not really, but ... maybe? (Sorry.)
Thanks to some clever video editing, the two politicians performed the viral song in a similar fashion as some Harvard athletes did earlier this month. The end result -- which premiered on "The Tonight Show" -- was pretty magical.
The "Call Me Maybe" craze started in February, when Justin Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez, together with a few of their famous friends, recorded an adorable lip sync video to Jepsen's infectious pop song. Thanks to Bieber -- and his 21 million Beliebers -- "Call Me Maybe" became an overnight internet sensation.
Popstar Katy Perry caught the "Call Me Maybe" bug and uploaded her own parody, featuring herself and a group of friends at a Coachella poolside party. »

For the first time in 16 years, there's a battle brewing in the ratings between Good Morning America and Today for the top spot. The two shows differ in substance, style and personality.
Recent ratings trends indicate viewers favoring fluff, which begs the question of how much news will people stomach first thing in the morning and who do they want giving it to them?
When Gma beat Today on April 9th, NBC executives were quick to point out that Today host Matt Lauer was on vacation. However, when Gma repeated its feat the week of April 23rd, Lauer was in his usual Today anchor chair, as he was again the week of May 7th when Gma took the lead by 86,000 total viewers.

New York -- Kristen Wiig got a musical sendoff on the season finale of "Saturday Night Live" as the popular and versatile cast member made her exit after seven years.
In the show's final sketch, guest host Mick Jagger played the principal at a high school graduation and brought up Wiig, in cap and gown, as "one particular student who is leaving this summer."
She danced in turn with Jagger, cast members and executive producer Lorne Michaels to the tune of the Rolling Stones classic "She's a Rainbow." Then the ensemble sang another Stones hit, "Ruby Tuesday," with its line, "still I'm gonna miss you."
Wiig appeared to be holding back tears.
Though NBC had made no prior announcement of her departure, it comes as no surprise. She starred in and co-wrote the hit comedy "Bridesmaids," and even before that had notable roles in "Friends With Kids," "Paul," "Adventureland" and "Knocked Up, »

It seems the Today show staff has fully endorsed "Call Me Maybe" as their choice for 2012's Song of Summer, devoting three segments to the song this morning. Three! (Even though Carly Rae Jepsen herself was nowhere to be found.) The morning started with an in-vehicle dance-off between the Harvard baseball team and the Smu rowing team, both of which have posted videos of themselves dancing to the songs in vans on road trips. Then hosts Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Savannah Guthrie, and Tamron Hall showed off their version of the dance, which was lackluster until Matt Lauer popped up from behind the couch, Whac-a-Mole-style. Maybe the best, though, was the opening to Kathie Lee and Hoda's hour, when the hosts lie on their backs and dance with their legs criss-crossing in the air. Check out more highlights right here. »

Another day, another rumor for the Kardashian family.
Kris Jenner sat down with Matt Lauer on "Today" this morning to talk about the upcoming seventh season of E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," which premieres Sunday.
The 56-year-old "momager" was there to promote her family's reality show, but Lauer had some other issues he wanted to address, such as who is Khloe's father and what's the deal with Kim and Kanye West?
Jenner called rumors that Robert Kardashian isn't Khloe's biological father, and that she's about to get fired as manager, "ridiculous."
"The girls sell magazines ... it's easy fodder. So the girls and I work together every single day, and we have an amazing relationship and ... I know when to take that (mom-ager) hat off and when to put it on. We have a nice relationship," she told Lauer.
Later on "Today," Jenner spoke with Kathie Lee and Hoda »

Kathie Lee and Hoda subjected themselves to plastic surgery live on-air in a very different hour of "Today" on Thursday.
The co-hosts said they were doing the "plastic surgery extravaganza" — entitled "Needles, Knives or Nothing: Kathie Lee and Hoda's Guide To Getting Work Done" — to satisfy viewers' curiosity about cosmetic procedures. They called themselves "human guinea pigs" for the day. Kathie Lee and Hoda rode onto the set in hospital beds wearing gowns and caps on Thursday.
Kathie Lee said that they would be showing viewers five procedures on-air. "Especially one that you guys are gonna be dying to know about, I think, because we've teased it before," Hoda said excitedly.
Sitting at the anchor desk, she got her one of her arms shaved in preparation for laser hair removal. Meanwhile, Kathie Lee had numbing cream on her forehead for an eyebrow lift procedure.

A new, safe and minimally invasive procedure has been making waves for doing what no other treatment could do -- get rid of stubborn cellulite! Kelly Ripa has auditioned "Live! With Kelly" co-hosts since Regis Philbin left the show in November 2011, but one name can be ruled out: Mark Consuelos, Ripa's husband.
“No one would make me happier than Mark, but he values our marriage and he says that he doesn't see how we could stay married and both do that show," Ripa told George Wayne in a new Vanity Fair interview appearing in the June 2012 issue.
When Kathie Lee Gifford left "Live!" in 2000, Philbin hosted the program solo with a rotating cast of guest co-hosts for a year before Ripa officially joined. The show is following a similar format this year.
"I've been through it from the other side," Ripa told the Associated Press. "I sort of understand how it works, and what it is they're looking for, and how this process can't be rushed."
Several famous faces have been making return appearances to "Live! »

Dearly beloved PopWatchers, we are gathered here today on this joyous Sunday to commemorate the one year anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Rosie O'Donnell has been keeping a low profile since her talk show on Oprah Winfrey's network was canceled. She had hoped to return to Broadway as Miss Hannigan in "Annie," but announced after auditioning that she wouldn't be treading the boards. So what does Rosie plan to do next? Return to TV.
"On Tuesday, Rosie will be joining Star Jones and ex-advertising man Donny Deutsch on the 'Today' show's 'The Professionals' panel in the 8 a.m. hour," a friend of Rosie's tells me. "She is super excited to be answering viewers' questions and isn't afraid to share her opinion on a whole host of topics."
"The Professionals" was a Star Jones idea that Executive Producer Jim Bell has turned into a regular feature. In fact, the segment has been so popular that there has even been talk of adding a fifth hour to "Today" that would be hosted by the "Professionals" panel. »

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb have been the target of Joel McHale and "The Soup" (Wed., 10 p.m. Et on E!) for years, so it was about time they returned the favor. They've talked about him a bit during their show on "Today" from time to time but when "The Soup" came to New York, they realized they had a chance to take their revenge to the source.
The pair showed up throughout the show, with wine glasses in hand, sharing plenty of barbs against the host and his show. But McHale held his own, keeping the jokes coming about their constant drinking -- with them playing along with that image as well.
It was clearly a mutual love-fest and a lot of fun to watch, but did Gifford and Kotb really get the upper hand in their long-standing back and forth with McHale? Likely not, but at least »
