Melissa George

Actress Melissa George -nominated for the highly prestigious Golden globe award this year for her stunning portrayal as “laura� in “intreatment� is quickly emerging as one of the most promising new actors of her generation.  George played the female lead opposite Josh Hartnett and Danny Huston in the Sony Pictures’ Film “30 Days of Night.� Which rose to Number 1 two weeks in a row.  Based on the acclaimed graphic novel of the same title. The film, directed by David Slade (“Hard Candy and Twilights�new moon�) was produced by Sam Raimi (Spiderman) George and Hartnett play a Sheriff husband and wife team whose town and the gang threatens lives.

George was seen starring opposite Josh Duhamel in Fox’s “Turistas,� In which george filmed the role in Portuguese. George also starred in the MGM number 1 hit remake of “The Amityville Horror� opposite Ryan Reynolds.  Grossing over 100 million worldwide. Additional film credits include; the comedies“Sugar and Spice;� and “Down with Love,� opposite Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellweger; “Dark City� opposite Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly and William Hurt;  “The Limey� opposite Terrence Stamp and directed by Steven Soderbergh; David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive� with Naomi Watts, and “Derailed� opposite Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. “The Music Within,� opposite Ron Livingston and Michael Sheen (frost Nixon) “Music Within� which won the Audience Award at the AFI, chronicles the true story of Richard Pimentel who is credited with changing America’s attitude toward the disabled. Pimentel (Livingston), “WAZ,� with Stellan Skarsgaard(mamma mia) and golden globe winning actress Sally Hawkins. “WAZ,� directed by Tom Shankland, tells the story of a rookie detective (George) and her veteran partner (Skarsgaard) who find them selves entangled in an undesirable case. 

2010 marks a successful year with the “tour de force� performance in “triangle� this film chronicles the journey of “Jesse� through her five personalities. This film is said to be her finest performance yet. She just completed the broad comedy “swinging with the finkels� opposite Mandy Moore , Martin Freeman and jerry stiller.at present george is filming the title role opposite sean harris (harry brown) an action adventure film titled “a lonely place to die� and later in the year- the period drama “stolen� opposite Keisha castle hughes and mads mikkelsen.

George’s career turned a corner with the critically acclaimed and highly anticipated HBO original series “In Treatment� with Gabriel Byrne and Diane Weist . The series, executive produced by writer-director Rodrigo Garcia (HBO’s “Carnivale� and “Big Love� and films such as “Nine Lives� and “Something You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her�) and Mark Wahlberg. George plays the complex role of the sexually addicted woman who falls in love with her doctor “byrne� In treatment won the AFI, it was voted the top 10 TV shows of the year and George gained a golden globe nomination for her fierce portrayal of Laura.

George started performing in her early years, as a champion roller-skater; touring around the world and amassing numerous awards, including national champion of Australia and a second place finish in the Junior Worlds.  At the age of 16, George was cast in the popular Australian television series “Home and Away,� alongside Heath Ledger and Guy Pearce. George was recognized for her work with several Logie Awards, the People’s Choice Award for Best Actress.  Also a BAFTA nomination for her portrayal of the leading character, Angel Brooks.  In 2003, George had one of the more memorable guest appearance roles in the hit NBC show, “Friends� as the “lesbian nanny.�  George also appeared as one of the series most successful characters,-Lauren Reed on ABC’s hit show, “Alias� in 2009, Melissa was asked to join Grey’s Anatomy, The number one show in the USA. Playing “sadie� Her face has graced the covers of Vogue and Gq.Melissa was also the face of Napoleon perdis cosmetics in 2008 and the face of linneys .George was photographed by the world’s leading photographer Douglas Kirkland for the 2009 linneys campaign.

George currently resides in New York City and Buenos Aires.
