'Married with Children' Spinoff Will Bring Back All the Bundys

'Married with Children' Spinoff Will Bring Back All the Bundys
Back in September, we reported that Sony Pictures Television is developing a spinoff of the beloved 1990s sitcom Married with Children, which would star David Faustino as Bud Bundy, who is grown up with a family of his own. We haven't heard anything regarding the spinoff since then, but, E! Online caught up with original Married With Children stars David Faustino and Christina Applegate, who confirmed that the Married...With Children Spinoff is in the works. Here's what David Faustino had to say.

"Sony has it. They're excited about it. They're working out some legal issues that we hope they work out. The whole cast, including Christina, is down to do little bits in it. The idea would be a pilot for a spinoff. That's all I can say right now. It involves me and few other people."

Ironically, the news was broke during the red carpet premiere of Christina Applegate's Vacation,

'Married with Children' Reboot Coming and Will Follow Bud Bundy
Nearly 20 years after it went off the air, Sony Pictures Television is planning a reboot of Married with Children that will follow David Faustino as son Bud Bundy and his new family.

Sony, who produced the sitcom for Fox, is taking out the pitch to various networks. At this time, it is unclear if any other cast members will return.

The show originally starred Ed O'Neill as Dad Al Bundy. He is currently one of the main cast members of the very popular ABC sitcom Modern Family. Its unlikely he will return in a substantial role, though a cameo appearance or two is not out of the question. Katey Sagal, who played mom Peggy Bundy, is currently appearing in her final season of Sons of Anarchy and does not have another show currently in the works. Same with Christina Applegate, who played daughter Kelly Bundy. Is it possible that they

Jason Bateman scored his second career Emmy nomination this year for playing Michael Bluth on "Arrested Development," eight years after first being nominated for the role.

That's great and all -- but in a certain part of the pop-culture consciousness, he'll always be Matthew Burton.

You know, the lead character of "It's Your Move"? The one-season NBC sitcom from 1984-85?

Welcome to Before They Were Emmy Nominees. Each Tuesday and Wednesday between now and the Emmy Awards on Sept. 22, we're going to look back at some early and obscure roles of a few of this year's acting nominees. (See Zap2it's Before They Were Nominees photo gallery.)

"It's Your Move" came from Ron Leavitt and Michael G. Moye, the future creators of "Married ... With Children." Bateman's Matthew was a teenage prankster and scam artist who lived with his sister (Tricia Cast) and their mom (Caren Kaye). Matthew met his match

Silence! - The Musical The 9th Space Theatre at P.S. 122, NYC

Of the many attempts to chase the legacy of the 1982 benchmark in horror/comedy of the musical variety that is Little Shop of Horrors, Silence! makes a fair play to place. Brandishing a well-equipped arsenal of deadpan, vulgarity, camp, and a wide array of theatrical references, this musical parody of Silence of the Lambs makes killing look easy.

While it is doubtful that any score in this unlikely sub-genre will ever live up to the catchy, simplistic brilliance of Alan Menken (before he whored himself out to Disney), Silence! picks up a ball that was dropped Off-Broadway years ago and has been shamelessly fumbled ever since. In short, it's now safe to go see a musical mock-up of a horror film classic again.

This cast delivers many standout performances. Jenn Harris deconstructs Jodie Foster, offering up a few

'Silence! The Musical': Hannibal the Cannibal sings off-Broadway

  • Pop2it
The title "Silence! The Musical" is strange and funny enough. When you discover which silence this offbeat piece is about, that's when the truly strange and funny come into focus.

This is a parody of "Silence of the Lambs." Yes, a musical about Hannibal the Cannibal. What could be funnier?

Sure, it has a "Springtime for Hitler" supposition to it and there are moments where it must -- to remain true to the story -- be offensive, ugly and vulgar. Any musical that includes a song titled "If I Could Smell Her C***" is going to outrage some. And, that number has a dance sequence acting out the title.

For those who get past that, it's a very funny and exceptionally well-done piece with terrific talent. David Garrison is creepily on target as Hannibal, the cannibalistic psychiatrist. His TV credits include "Married ... With Children" "L.A. Law" and "The West Wing,

'Olive and the Bitter Herbs' Cast on Aging and Opportunities

  • Backstage
Veteran actors Dan Butler, David Garrison, Julie Halston, Marcia Jean Kurtz, and Richard Masur say it's rare to find themselves in a play exploring the lives of mature people grappling with the sometimes thorny, occasionally comic issues of aging. They feel lucky to be in Charles Busch's "Olive and the Bitter Herbs," a comedy set in New York City that details the evolving relationships among embittered Jewish actor Olive (Kurtz), her slightly demented caregiving friend Wendy (Halston), two bickering gay neighbors (Butler and Garrison), and the twice widowed Sylvan (Richard Masur). Throw into the brew a ghost and a "six degrees of separation" theme. Busch is perhaps best known for his play "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife," which was nominated for a 2001 Tony Award for best play. "Olive and the Bitter Herbs" is a Primary Stages production running Off-Broadway.Seated on its set—a cozy living room in a prewar,

Married with Children: Watch David Faustino's Bundy Family Reunion

David Faustino is doing something similar to Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, but he's making it far more personal. He stars in a web comedy series called Star-ving, a parodied version of his own life. One of the recent episodes provides a special treat for fans of Married With Children.

Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and Faustino starred as the members of the unique sitcom family known as the Bundys. Al is a dad/husband with a caustic wit and a penchant for attending strip clubs. Peg is his sex-starved, lazy wife who always wears high heels, spandex pants, and teased hair. Daughter Kelly is even more dim-witted than her mother while son Bud seems to have picked up the worst features of both of his parents. Other regular performers include Amanda Bearse, Ted McGinley, David Garrison, Harold Sylvester, E.E. Bell, Dan Tullis Jr., Kevin Curran, and Tom McCleister.
