Leif Garrett's been battling substance abuse problems for years, which is why he took part in Season 4 of 'Celebrity Rehab.' However, he stormed out of the Pasadena Recovey Center, later telling 'The Los Angeles' Times that producers encouraged him to relapse for dramatic purposes.
Last night Bob Forrest and Rachel Uchitel checked up on Garrett as part of 'Celebrity Rehab Revisited' (Sun., 9Pm Et on VH1) and things did not go too well. Garret told the pair that he'd been taking lots of painkillers following a serious motorcycle accident, and then he admitted dabbling in marijuana and booze.
That's when Bob criticized Garrett's "cavalier and laissez-faire attitude toward alcohol," which did not sit well with the former teen idol. Saying "I really do not appreciate it," Garrett walked out. Again. »

There is the art this weekend at the tenth annual Art Basel Miami Beach, of course – 260 galleries and over 2000 artists. But there is the scene too, and lots of it as the industry, and the rich, fabulous and curious poured into town to drink it all up.

If there was a belle of this year’s Emmys ball, it would have to be Mike & Molly’s Melissa McCarthy, who was crowned best lead actress in a comedy series. It was a triumphant moment for an actress who, in the last year, went from having her right to star on a sitcom about two people falling in love questioned, to being the breakout star of the box office hit Bridesmaids and landing an upcoming spot hosting Saturday Night Live (Oct. 1). EW’s long been a fan of Groundlings alum McCarthy, an unsung hero on Gilmore Girls and Samantha Who? »

He's been clean one year and says he's a changed man. Now, The Hills and Laguna Beach alum Jason Wahler - who had a string of drunk driving arrests and stints in rehab - is making strides with his personal life as well. "I wanted to make amends with Lauren [Conrad]," he says of his ex-girlfriend. "She was a big part of my life and there's stuff that happened in the past with my drunken ways that I needed to address." Wahler, 24, currently works in Costa Mesa, Calif., at National Therapeutic Services as a mentor and sober companion. "It feels good to give back, »

We were pretty sure Kurt Cobain had rolled over in his grave enough a few weeks ago when just-booted "American Idol" finalist Casey "Wolfman" Abrams performed his tortured, crazy-eyed stare cover of Nirvana's breakthrough hit, "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
Yes, it was awful, hard-to-watch and just kind of offensive to lovers of music. But when we saw footage of Miley Cyrus doing her studded leather and Crest White Strips shimmy to the song during a recent concert and, well, a new bar was set. Cyrus, of course, has more vocal chops, but her karaoke party blitz through the tune effectively stripped it of every ounce of angst or aggression, replacing the original's intent with peppy cheerleader charm.
Are there worse ones? Yes, this awful effort by high school kids is generally considered to be the bottom of the "Teen Spirit" barrel, as tuneless as it is offbeat, but they're kids, »

Charles Laufer, who launched a publishing empire based on teen fan magazines that often featured pictures of shirtless androgynous boys who were “stars” only in the magazines themselves, has died at age 87. His daughter Teena Naumann said that her father died on April 5 in Northridge. His magazines included Tiger Beat and Fave, which at their peak sold hundreds of thousands of copies each month. Usually when a movie’s been on the shelf for over three years, the stars usually don’t want anything to do with it once it finally comes out—don’t mention Case 39 to Renee Zellweger or Bradley Cooper. So it’s hopefully a sign of relative quality that Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Michelle Trachtenberg and Dan Fogler all showed up for the premiere of Take Me Home Tonight, which they filmed all the way back in 2007. Sure, Faris met husband Chris Pratt on the set, but again…that didn’t mean much to Renee and Brad.
Also impressive is how many ’80s figures showed up to celebrate the film celebrating their decade of stardom: Deborah Gibson, Anthony Michael Hall, Ralph Macchio and Tawny Kitaen were just a few of the icons on hand, with future nostalgia marketers like Lance Bass and 50 Cent (wearing a velvet suit jacket!) on hand to take notes. »

What's sure to be better than watching tabloid staple Rachel Uchitel along with some of the other hottest messes in Hollywood try to cool it on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew"? The reunion!
Yes, we'll take a post-rehab look at the show's cast when they make a return visit to Dr. Drew and we'll get to see who stayed sober, who fell back, and who's worse off than before they even went on.
We've already seen failed escape attempts, near-relapses, panic attacks, treatment departures and more. The cast probably won't lose their wigs like on The Real Housewives reunions, but it's sure to make for real good television regardless.
So will it be relapse or redemption for this season's stars Uchitel of Tiger Woods and David Boreanaz affair fame, Janice Dickinson, Eric Roberts, Jeremy London, Leif Garrett, Keyshia Cole's mom Frankie Lons, "Hills" star Jason Wahler, and socialite Jason Davis? »

We'd like to think that when we watch shows like 'Intervention' or 'Celebrity Rehab,' we're seeing people better their lives through the help and support of addiction professionals. But according to some people in the rehabilitation field, the reality shows might be doing more harm than good for their subjects.
In an interesting feature on rehab shows that ran this weekend in the Los Angeles Times, Dr. David Sack of Malibu's Promises Treatment Center said he worries that the shows take advantage of people in their most vulnerable, altered states.
"Our concern is that people who are in the throes of an addiction should not be signing a release for something that will be shown on TV over and over," he said.
Leif Garrett, a participant in the current season of VH1's 'Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew,' told the Times that the »

Celebrity Rehab participant Leif Garrett said that before his time on the show with Dr. Drew Pinsky, he was sober but producers asked him to use on camera, so he did. And first-season participant Jeff Conway said producers asked him to lie and create drama. Garrett reveals that in a Los Angeles Times feature story about the ethics of the show. He said that before going to the Pasadena Recovery Center, he sobered up, and »
