Bradley Cooper Can't Stop Laughing on The Ellen Show, and Now Neither Can We

5 May 2017 3:00 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Bradley Cooper technically made his first postbaby appearance at the beginning of April when he stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to try and put an end to the host's selfie war with a teenager. But on Friday, he actually sat down in a chair with Ellen to talk about a handful of random things, and we love it so much. Bradley, who welcomed his first child, daughter Lea, with girlfriend Irina Shayk at the end of March, was a barrel of laughs when he talked about everything from being frequently mistaken for Zach Galifianakis to admitting that he googles himself in his free time. But the funniest part of all came when Ellen brought up that infamous scene with a fake baby in American Sniper. "I know you don't want to talk about the baby, but I knew you'd be a good father when I saw you in American Sniper, »

‘The Chris Gethard Show’ Moves to TruTV

4 May 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The Chris Gethard Show” is migrating to TruTV for its third season.

The move is the latest for comedian Gethard’s talker, which began as a live show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York, then became a cable-access program, then was picked up by cable channel Fusion with its launch there in 2015. No premiere date has been set. TruTV will broadcast the show live from New York. Episodes were prerecorded for Fusion.

“I’ve long admired truTV for their brand of honest, in your face comedy. Myself and the gang from ‘The Chris Gethard Show’ are thrilled to have a new home on the network and are licking our chops for a chance to match the bar truTV has set the past few years,” said Gethard. “I also can’t believe they’re letting us do the show live. Kudos to them for embracing what could be a real disaster. My »

Zach Galifianakis on Baskets, relationship advice and interviewing Obama

3 May 2017 9:45 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Author: Thomas Alexander

Over the past few years Zach Galifianakis’ career has sky-rocketed to atmospheric levels and beyond. It is fair to say it is a career that is varied from performances as the hapless Alan in The Hangover to starring in Alejandro Iñárritu’s Oscar-nominated Birdman.

We caught up with the man himself to talk about his latest show, Baskets, as well as the eagerly anticipated Tulip Fever and the future of Bored to Death.

Baskets was created by yourself and Louis C.K – was there any chance he’d be playing Chip or was it always going to be yourself?

Louis had called me to see if I was interested in being in a show he wrote. But that’s maybe a better idea, for Louis to play Chip.

You could maybe switch for the next season, see if anyone notices…

The less of me people see, the better… »

The Best Dual Roles on TV, Ranked

26 April 2017 9:24 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

It’s difficult enough for an actor to be tasked with transforming into a new person — in aspect, personality, movement and spirit — from role to role. But when double duty (or more) is required within the same project, that’s when the real challenge kicks in, because the viewer must be convinced that the same actor is distinctly different when they’re playing both parts in rapid succession, sometimes even side-by side or interacting with each other.

Dating back to shows like “The Patty Duke Show,” “Bewitched” and “I Dream of Jeannie,” the dual role usually allowed for storylines involving twins, cousins or other lookalikes. Even “Knight Rider” stuck a mustache and goatee on David Hasselhoff to give him an evil twin. Over time though, these performances became less campy and more convincing, going beyond the fake hair, goofy costuming or “evil” shortcut trappings. These days, dual roles can be »

Another New 'Tulip Fever' Trailer to Remind Us This Still Isn't Out Yet

25 April 2017 3:53 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"She has a rare beauty..." The Weinstein Company has unveiled another new trailer for the romantic drama Tulip Fever, which has been delayed from release for over a year now. This was originally scheduled for release July of last year, but TWC pulled it, then set it again for the fall, then pushed it back again all the way until August of 2017. Hopefully this will be the official date. Alicia Vikander stars as a Dutch woman married to a rich and powerful merchant, played by Christoph Waltz, who begins an affair with a young painter, played by Dane DeHaan. Set in 17th Century Amsterdam, this also stars: Holliday Grainger, Jack O'Connell, Zach Galifianakis, Dame Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander and Cara Delevingne. This looks as mediocre as it did last year, but maybe there's something to it. See below. Here's the newest official trailer for Justin Chadwick's Tulip Fever, »

Pot TV: Celebrate 4/20 By Watching the Most Memorable Stoner Shows

20 April 2017 9:41 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

It’s not a federally recognized holiday, but the peaceful spirit of April 20 – otherwise known as the marijuana-enhanced 4-20 – is one worth celebrating. While still technically an illegal substance in most areas of the world, some of our favorite TV shows are clearly enhanced by being under the influence. Pot imbues them with a certain sensibility that may heighten the mood, even without chemical assistance.

Here are some of our favorite series, all available on streaming services, that acknowledge weed as a normal part of life for many Americans (even though a lot of the characters on this list probably shouldn’t be described as “normal”).

“Bored to Death”

Jonathan Ames’ HBO comedy was a celebration of both pot’s mellow and extreme mind-altering states. On the one hand, a little bit of suspension of disbelief was needed to buy into the oddball adventures of Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman), a novelist turned unlicensed private investigator. »

After months of speculation, Marvel has finally chosen its directors for Captain Marvel, bringing in a pair of indie filmmakers who weren't mentioned as front runners in the past. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who most recently directed the A24 dramatic comedy Mississippi Grind starring Ryan Reynolds and Ben Mendelsohn, have signed on to take the helm of this superhero adventure, which has Brie Larson set to star as the title character. While this news has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios itself, the studio reportedly took its time in finding the right director, while also making sure that the script was in great shape.

Variety reports that Marvel met with multiple contenders for the job before selecting Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. The studio met with the directing pair multiple times and were thoroughly impressed with their approach to the title character, a.k.a. Carol Danvers. Nicole Perlman »
