Herbert Fux was born on March 25, 1927 in Hallein, Austria. He was an actor and writer, known for Der Bergdoktor (1992), The Three Musketeers (1993) and Woyzeck (1979). He was married to Edith. He died on March 13, 2007 in Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland.

Was politically active in his birthplace Salzburg since 1974. Became a foundation member of the Green Party of Austria and member of the parliament during the 80ies, but withdrew soon to concentrate on acting again.

Suffering from a debilitating illness, he committed "assisted suicide" by poison.
Tough-looking Austrian character actor, active across all genres. Mostly used as a perennial heavy in Italo westerns and European co-productions, equally effective in spy thrillers, crime dramas and horror films. In fact, he took on just about any role that came his way, including in Bavarian porn films.
