Got her first job in the movie business, as an assistant to producer/director Sam Raimi, as a result of mailing her sociology thesis "A Feminist and Class-Based Analysis of Slasher Films" to horror film producers. In the thesis, Friedman praises horror films for having strong female characters. See more »
