The First Image From Psych: The Movie Has Surfaced

17 July 2017 4:00 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Back in May, we reported that USA Network would be airing Psych: The Movie this December. The movie is a reunion of sorts for the series that ended back in 2014, bringing back all your favorite characters, with the exception of Lassiter, due to the actor who portrays him, Timothy Omundson, having had a stroke a few months back. For those unfamiliar with the fan favorite series, Psych told the story of Shawn Spencer (James Roday), who utilized his unbelievable skills of observation to become a fake psychic detective, with the aid of his best friend for life, Gus (Dule Hill). Though an hour long, the series was hilarious with countless '80s references and perfect chemistry between the two leads.

We now have more details about the made-for-tv movie including the first image, reuniting the cast after three years!

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Ralph Macchio will be reprising the role of police academy officer Nick Conforth in the upcoming TV special Psych: The Movie.

“He’s actually a big catalyst to get our investigation going. He holds one of the key pieces of information,” creator Steve Franks told the outlet. “He actually functioned perfectly within the framework of the story and that was kind of the key [to bringing his character back].”

Psych: The Movie picks up three years after the series finale and sees Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) on the trail of the Thin White Duke, played by Zachary Levi. Also returning for the two hour special are Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson, Corbin Bernsen, and Kirsten Nelson.

Psych was a program on USA Network that ran for eight seasons, from 2006 through 2014, with 120 episodes in total. It told the story of Shawn Spencer (James Roday) utilized his unbelievable skills of observation to become a fake psychic detective, with the aid of his best friend for life, Gus (Dule Hill).
