Upon seeing Nancy in "Temperatures Rising" syndicated newspaper columnist Win Fanning referred to her as "a fresh new face and talent giving promise of a long, successful career ahead". Another reviewer, writing for the Armored Sentinel of Fort Worth, Texas, stated that "the brightest spot of the series is Nancy Fox. Her role applies the wackiness of Goldie Hawn, but in situation comedy form. I'd watch the show just for her!" Still another reviewer, commenting on "Temperatures Rising", stated that Nancy "wins this year's cute-as-a-kitten award".
Was spotted by Elizabeth Montgomery, star of Bewitched (1964), in a commercial for Close-Up Toothpaste. Montgomery then informed her husband, William Asher, about Nancy. Asher then had Screen Gems call Nancy in New York and asked her come to Los Angeles and test for the pilot episode of The New Temperatures Rising Show (1972). After asking her agent, "What's a pilot?", Nancy flew out to Los Angeles (with her agent), made the pilot, and won the part.
