Maria Ford was born in Colorado and started acting as a teenager. Upon arriving in Hollywood she immediately found work in feature films. Since the late 1980s she has built up an impressively long resume, starring in such genre films as Necronomicon: Book of Dead (1993), Dillinger and Capone (1995), Perfect Fit (2001) and The Haunting of Morella (1990). Although renowned for her stunning beauty, Maria is also a professionally trained martial artist and dancer, and thus a versatile actress. In recent years she has broadened her horizons toward more mainstream family fare, guest-starring in such network television shows as The Drew Carey Show (1995), Chicago Hope (1994) and 7th Heaven (1996), as well as such children's films as Casper Meets Wendy (1998) and Beethoven's 5th (2003).
