Undertaker vs Roman Reigns backstage update, ex-wwe star Wrestlemania returns in works…

4 February 2017 2:44 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Not only was WWE’s biggest babyface Roman Reigns roundly booed for coming out at number 30 in last Sunday’s Royal Rumble match, he received even more heel heat when he eliminated The Undertaker. Partly because people actually like The Undertaker, and partly because it strongly implied what we’d be getting for Wrestlemania 33: The Deadman vs Roman Reigns.

As has been reported for the last few weeks, ever since news came out that The Undertaker and John Cena’s long-proposed Wrestlemania match was off, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter still has Reigns vs Taker down in WWE’s currently planned lineup, noting that “Vince McMahon had been wanting to make this match for some time…” and that “…with Undertaker’s condition the way it is, this could have been the last chance to do it. There is the idea of a generational passing of the torch.”

Goldberg & Brock Lesnar WWE plans leaked? Conor McGregor made huge WWE offer…

4 February 2017 2:32 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Once in a lifetime matches are great. They’re special because, you know, there’s only one of them. In a lifetime.

Until…there’s another one.

Sequels rarely hold the same appeal, like Jaws: The Revenge. The way around this is to increase the stakes. After The Rock beat John Cena at Wrestlemania 28, Vince McMahon made sure the WWE Championship was on the line for their Wrestlemania 29 rematch. Unfortunately, you can’t put a title belt on a shark.

If the currently reported Road to Wrestlemania plans are to be believed, the just ‘chuck a title on it’ way of thinking might be happening again.

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar have now clashed twice since the former’s WWE return. First at Survivor Series for a total of 1 minute 26 seconds, and then in the Royal Rumble match for a further 22. That means both encounters haven’t even made up two minutes of in-ring action. »

Finn Balor WWE return update, Mick Foley out of Raw? Another WWE star injured…

2 February 2017 11:29 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Royal Rumble on Sunday. Raw on Monday. Smackdown and 205 Live on Tuesday. Nxt last night – you’re probably thinking, ‘there just isn’t enough wrestling around these days’.

So thank you Netflix for bringing seasons 1 and 2 of Lucha Underground to the streaming service. The news was first broken by Mlw Radio, who say the El Rey show will be available on there from the 15th February in the Us and Canada, which Netflix themselves later confirmed.

This doesn’t affect Lucha Underground’s first-run airing on the El Rey Network, and the second half of season three will begin on the 31st May.

News broke yesterday that Seth Rollins reinjured his right knee on this week’s episode of Raw. Unfortunately, it isn’t just the Architect who is currently out of action right now in WWE.

On this week’s 205 Live, former Cruiserweight champion Rich Swann revealed he »

WWE Wrestler Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka Passes Away at 73

16 January 2017 9:43 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The colorful world of WWE sports entertainment has lost one of its most iconic wrestlers over the weekend. Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka, who was best known for his leaps from the top rope in the 1980s, passed away on Sunday night at the age of 73. Attorney Robert Kirwan II announced that the wrestler was taken to his son-in-law's home in Pompano Beach, Florida, confirming that he passed, "due to complications from his ongoing medical problems." But he wouldn't elaborate any further on those medical problems. Here's what the WWE had to say in a statement.

"WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka has passed away. Snuka is regarded by many as the pioneer of high-flying offense because of his Superfly Splash from the top turnbuckle. His dive off the top of the steel cage onto Don Muraco at Madison Square Garden as hundreds »

WWE Hall of Famer 'Superfly'Jimmy Snuka Passes Away

15 January 2017 1:16 PM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

On September 18th, 1989, I attend my first WWE Live Event. It was a House Show at the old Stadium Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Main Event of the show saw The Ultimate Warrior face off against Andre the Giant for the Intercontinental Championship. Other legends that were a part of the show were Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty, Rick The Model Martel, Barry Windham, The Honky Tonk Man, and Superfly Jimmy Snuka.

I bring this up because word came out today that Jimmy Snuka has passed away at the age of 73 due to stomach cancer. His work in the ring speaks for itself. He was a legend that helped inspire the likes of Mick Foley to lace up the boots and become competitors themselves. He was also the first notch on The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania when The Undertaker defeated him at Wrestlemania 7. He also had a »

John Cena’s Wrestlemania 33 plans changed, Mick Foley leaving WWE Raw?

12 January 2017 11:11 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The previously reported big matches for Wrestlemania 33 were Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar, John Cena vs The Undertaker and Seth Rollins vs Triple H. If Rollins remembers he’s still angry with Triple H in three months’ time, that is.

But according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been some major changes in recent weeks, with the most significant being “the proposed Undertaker vs. John Cena match is off the boards.” At one point, this was meant to be one of the show’s top two matches, but Vince has changed his mind.

This is why Undertaker appeared on this week’s Raw instead of his brand-drafted Smackdown. He’ll reportedly face someone on the Raw roster at Wrestlemania and not for a championship, but despite the Braun Strowman tease, “it will not be Strowman as things stand right now.”

Monday Night Raw Reaction 01/02/2017

2 January 2017 10:12 PM, PST | | See recent LRM Online news »

The first Monday Night Raw of the new year brought us some interesting things to talk about. We had a wonderful Last Man Standing match between Sami Zayn vs Braun Strowman which not only made Braun look like a vicious bad ass but gave Sami a much needed boost with the grit and determination he showed in the loss. We had an amazing, yet short, Number One Contender’s match for the Raw Women’s Championship between Nia Jax and Bayley which saw Bayley get the win after Sasha Banks’ music hit causing Nia to become distracted. Yet the end of the show is what really hit me most and not in a good way. It was the debut interview segment of The Kevin Owens Show with his special guest Bill Goldberg.

The WWE showed it’s audience in that segment how much they care about their champion. He was »
