5 Best WWE Draft 2016 Moments

21 July 2016 11:18 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

Yesterday I counted down my five worst WWE Draft moments. But it wasn’t all gloom, doom and Cesaro to Raw.

Although there were no surprise returns, the focus was still very much on the authority figures and there’s still nobody on the main roster called Shinsuke Nakamura – there were high spots.

Five, by my count…

5. The Man Raw Remembered

Way down in the 6th round, as Raw’s 16th draft pick, Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley chose The Man That Gravity Forgot Until His Ankle Injury A Few Months Ago – Neville.

Why is this so important? Neville has found himself stuck in the lower mid-card since being called up from Nxt. Despite being a phenomenal high-flyer, WWE couldn’t work out the best way to use him.

Well now…they have a cruiserweight division. »

Who Was Revealed As Raw’s Gm? New Division Announced For Monday Nights! | WWE Raw 07/18/16 Review

19 July 2016 1:12 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 07/18/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including Raw and Smackdown’s new General Managers revealed, an old division being brought back to WWE, a huge WWE championship match and more…

Brand Split-amania!

The old ‘New Era’ ended with its most common trait – an opening promo segment with some McMahons.

They bantered about the draft, and Stephanie claimed to have better Lady Balls than Shane’s…man balls. Lady Balls was one of the rumoured names for Stephanie’s upcoming autobiography, so it looks like they’re turning that into a catchphrase. It’s a shame, as I much prefer “Filthy, Dirty, Disgusting, Skanky, Brutal, Bottom-feeding, Trash-bag ho”. Drink it in.

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

In this episode of the WrestleTalk News, Vince McMahon reportedly “very upset” with Roman Reigns’ Wellness Policy violation, and apparently souring on him as WWE’s top star; and loads of brand split announcements coming out of last night’s Raw.

Loads Of WWE Brand Split Announcements!

Our top story today is Vince McMahon’s backstage reaction to the Roman Reigns suspension scandal, but first – a whole bunch of brand split announcements happened on last night’s episode of Raw.

In the opening segment of the show, Shane McMahon announced Daniel Bryan as the General Manager of Smackdown – which we all kind of knew already as it was leaked by the WWE app last week – and Stephanie revealed Mick Foley as her General Manager for Raw. Which, along with Vince McMahon and Williams Regal gives us… »

Daniel Bryan and Mick Foley return to WWE as General Managers of Raw and Smackdown

19 July 2016 3:22 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

After weeks of teasing and speculation – which has seen the returns of Teddy Long and Vicky Guerrero – we now officially have our General Managers for Raw and Smackdown following tonight’s draft.

It was revealed on last night’s Raw that “The Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley will be the new Gm of Commissioner Stephanie McMahon’s Raw and former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan will be the Gm of Shane McMahon’s Smackdown. It was also announced that Raw will feature the return of the cruiserweight division, following a successful start to the WWE Network exclusive Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

On the eve of the Draft, which is taking place for just the ninth time in the company’s history, WWE announced that Mick Foley will act as general manager for “Monday Night Raw,” while Daniel Bryan will be Gm for “SmackDown.” Hall of Famer Foley was introduced to a screaming crowd by commissioner Stephanie McMahon during that latest “Monday Night Raw,” as it was revealed that the show will become the home of a new exclusive cruiserweight division. WWE Raw 07/04/16 Review …in about 4 minutes – 4th July Holiday Special! New Day Falls!

5 July 2016 10:47 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 06/20/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including the Biggest Food Fight In The World!, a fantastic Aj Styles/John Cena segment, Seth Rollins taking on Dolph Ziggler in a great match, Team USA vs Team Not USA and more…

Independence Day: Indigestion

America! Terry Funk, yeah.

Raw opened on a 4th July dinner comedy skit with most of the main roster, and as soon as The Miz turned up in a pristine white suit, you knew what was coming. Food fight! Which was bizarre for a few reasons: 1) It was actually really funny, 2) Titus O’Neil just stood in the background hitting people with his giant sausage, and 3) it ended with Kevin Owens being hit in the face by a mystery pie thrower.

There was never any payoff to this, »

Ashley Wade was lying in her hospital bed at Christmas time several years ago, in horrible pain from crippling Crohn's disease and feeling very alone. Then a good-hearted volunteer entered her room and handed the then-17 year a gingerbread-making kit. "I sat up," Wade tells People, "and making it helped me forget I was sick and in the hospital for a little bit." At that moment, Wade, of Massapequa, New York, decided that she, too, would make it her mission to help other sick kids to forget. A month later in early 2012, she returned to the hospital for treatment, but she didn’t come empty-handed. »

Review: WWE Wrestlemania Xxxii (Blu-ray)

5 June 2016 2:57 AM, PDT | Shadowlocked | See recent Shadowlocked news »

Another year, another WrestleMania, and once again the WWE have put together their undeniably impressive Showcase of the Immortals, this year in Dallas, Texas.

Kicking off, as it did last year, with a seven man ladder match for the Intercontinental Title, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Sami Zayn, Stardust, Sin Cara and Zack Ryder put on a great match, delivering plenty of bumps and really setting the seeds for the ongoing Owens / Zayn feud now that both men are established on the main roster.

Next up was Aj Styles’s Mania debut against Chris Jericho, with both men giving their all but not quite creating the synergy that might be expected from two top performers. That said, Styles was impressive and will surely be a lot higher up the bill for Wm Xxxiii next year.

Former Ecw and WWE wrestler Balls Mahoney passes away at 44 years old

13 April 2016 1:22 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

We are saddened to report this morning that former Ecw and WWE wrestler Jonathan Rechner, better known as Balls Mahoney, has passed away.

Rechner had a run in Smokey Mountain Wrestling as Boo Radley before having a brief – but rather infamous – performance in WWF as the evil Xanta Klaus. He found fame and success among wrestling fans when he went to Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling where he wrestled as Balls Mahoney. He would become known for his vicious chairshots and would have brutal matches with the likes of Taz, Masato Tanaka, Lance Storm and Axl Rotten. So violent were his matches with Rotten that the two formed a tag team called The Chair Swinging Freaks, and they feuded with The Dudley Boyz.

Mahoney was brought in by WWE as part of their Ecw revival and he would have feuds with Snitsky, Big Daddy V and The New Breed. »

Review: WWE Straight Outta Dudleyville (Blu-ray)

4 April 2016 2:43 AM, PDT | Shadowlocked | See recent Shadowlocked news »

The WWE is experiencing something of a resurgence in its tag team divisions at the moment, and while teams like The Usos, Los Matadores and the fabulous The New Day are very impressive and entertaining, there was a time in the WWE just over a decade ago, that the tag team division was something truly phenomenal and a large part of this was due to the Dudley Boyz.

Initially part of the larger Dudley Brothers stable at Ecw, Bubba-Ray and D-Von Dudley soon broke away to become their own two man wrecking machine and in the process laid the foundations for the tag team that is still a dominating force in the WWE today.

Straight Outta Dudleyville is a celebration of the first twenty years of this epic partnership and as is their way these days, WWE has once again assembled a fascinating, informative and entertaining documentary to accompany it. »
