Born in Torrance, California, Shawn Flanagan grew up in San Jose where he lives today. At the age of 18 while cleaning a donut shop, Flanagan heard a radio advertisement for a motion picture company looking for extras in the 1983 movie, "The Right Stuff". He volunteered amongst two thousand other extras and was quickly bitten by the movie making bug. Attending film school and acting classes while doing background work on dozens of films, Flanagan landed an opportunity when he met Sean and Patrick Donahue of Bottom Line Studios. Producers of High Action Stunt Films, Flanagan co-produced, co-wrote and acted in four feature films with the father and son filmmaking team. In December of '98, Flanagan formed Almaden Films and teamed up with Dan L. Connolly of ACS, Armed Courier Service, and the two went on to produce three feature films together.
