Did You Know?
[1987 comment on Brigitte Bardot] Brigitte bowled me over with a sort of insolent grace and her extraordinary ease. She was very young when I met her for the first time. She seemed to be dancing through life, dancing through her films. I think that she didn't really like it so much to be an actress . Celebrity weighed heavy on her.
She was more famous for playing the role of Marguerite Gautier in "La Dame aux Camelias" (aka "Camille") than any other French actress of the twentieth century. Her performance (in French) has been preserved on long out-of-print LPs.
