It's a bright day for sci-fi fans. Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie's Dark Matter TV show has been renewed for a third season on Syfy. I had the fantastic privilege of spending five days last week at San Diego Comic Con. It was my first time attending the convention, and I had an absolute blast. During my time there, I got to speak with some of the cast and crew of SyFy’s Dark Matter. Deadline reports Franka Potente has been cast in a recurring role for the second season of the Dark Matter TV show on Syfy. Potente played Eleanor Nacht on The Bridge TV series which was cancelled after two seasons on FX. She also played Eva Heissen, on BBC America's cancelled series, Copper. Dark Matter, season two, premieres on Syfy, Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00pm Et/Pt.
According to the report, Potente plays Commander Shaddick, Chief Inspector of the Galactic Authority Serious Crimes Division, She is described as, "...cool, calculated and determined to prove the crew of the Raza were involved in the destruction of Iriden 3." The Dark Matter TV series cast includes Marc Bendavid, Melissa O’Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr., Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross, Zoie Palmer, Melanie Liburd, and Shaun Sipos.
Although many of our favorite shows are about to take a few months off, that doesn’t mean your TV will become obsolete during the summertime. SyFy intends to heat things up with the release of two trailers promoting the sophomore seasons of Dark Matter and Killjoys.
I admit that it’s not often I become addicted to a summer series, but I found myself pleasantly surprised when Dark Matter effectively entralled me with its intrigue, space exploration, and great characters that were just as unaware of who they were as the viewer was. With the team having been betrayed from within during the first season’s finale, I expect the new dynamic added to extend the scope of what’s been established.

Actor Shaun Sipos joins the second season cast of the Dark Matter TV show on Syfy. Fans may recognize Sipos as teacher Eric Daniels on Life Unexpected, which was cancelled by The CW after two seasons. Sipos also recurred as Aaron Whitmore, during the fifth season of The Vampire Diaries. The second season of Dark Matter premieres on Syfy, Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:00pm Et/Pt.
