Lantern Trailer, Thor Dates, Captain Rejects

11 November 2010 7:36 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Green Lantern

Comic Book Movie has posted a rumoured description of the teaser trailer set to debut next week with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One".

Amongst the highlights are Abin Sur crashing, a shot with Hal Jordan instantly changing into costume in front of his mate, Hal making a huge fist construct to right hook a bunch of bad guys, brief shots of Oa and Hector Hammond, and Hal going into hyperspace.

Thor

Much like the two "Iron Man" films in year's past, Marvel's "Thor" is scheduled to open a week earlier throughout the globe than in the Us. According to the official site and with the exception of Japan (which gets it July 2nd), all major international territories like the UK, Australia, France and New Zealand are all set to get "Thor" in cinemas on April 28th or 29th, a full week ahead of the May 6th release in North America. »

Captain America director says Namor the Sub-Mariner is not in the movie

8 November 2010 6:08 PM, PST | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

Joe Johnston, director of Captain America: The First Avenger, has said that, contrary to online rumours, Namor the Sub-Mariner is not in the movie.

Namor is the mutant son of a sea captain and a princess of Atlantis. He possesses superhuman strength, aquatic abilities and the power of flight.

The character has associations with Captain America in Marvel's comic books. Both were members of the Invaders, a Second World War supergroup.

Many years after the war, the Avengers discovered the Captain in suspended animation within a glacier, which melted after Namor hurled it into the ocean.

Joe Johnston had earlier told Comic Book Movie that the Invaders were in the Captain America film and appeared to indicate that Namor would be among them, but without the trademark wings on his heels.

He told Chud the Invaders would have six members and would be "in the entire second half" of the story. »

Rumor Has It! Captain America Has Enlisted Its Union Jack

1 September 2010 12:00 PM, PDT | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

Captain America: The First Avenger director, Joe Johnston has previously stated that all six members of The Invaders would take part in the Word War II portion of the film. Now, actor Jj Feild (Centurion) is rumored to be playing the part of Montgomery Falsworth a.k.a. Union Jack.

The casting hasn’t been confirmed by the studio, and the only source currently suggesting Feild in this role is IMDb, and as such it should probably be considered rumor. »

Has 'Captain America' Found Its Union Jack?

31 August 2010 10:00 AM, PDT | MTV Splash Page | See recent MTV Splash Page news »

By Rachel Molino

We know classic Captain America villains Arnim Zola and The Red Skull will be battling Steve Rogers and James "Bucky" Barnes when "The First Avenger: Captain America" arrives on the big screen, but a recent, unconfirmed report has indicated that Cap's counterpart in the U.K. could get in on the action, too.

For what it’s worth, film/acor database and noted rumor mill IMDb has an actor cast in the role of Montgomery Falsworth — a.k.a. Union Jack — in “Captain America: The First Avenger”. British actor Jj Feild was born in the USA, but if the site proves correct, he’ll be WWII-era superteam The Invaders’ foremost Brit.

With his roles having thus far been limited to smaller British films and TV series, it’s not likely most Americans have seen Feild before. That may change as the actor cuts quite a convincing figure as the potential hero. »

Centurion (2010)

Directed by: Neil Marshall

Written by: Neil Marshall

Cast: Michael Fassbender, Dominic West, Olga Kurylenko, Noel Clarke, David Morrissey, Jj Feild, Axelle Carolyn, Dave Legeno, Ulrich Thomsen, James Currie, Dhaffer L'Abidine, Imogen Poots, Rachael Stirling

The Romans were fond of expanding their empire, and this fondness often had occasion to venture into the big island of England. Their accomplishments in the south were reasonably well settled; the Roman Empire successfully retained control of that portion of Britain for many, many years. The north, however, wasn't to be won so easily. The Picts - which was a loose confederation of Celtic tribes - weren't obliged to go under Roman law, and they were very skilled at killing those that might try to bring that rule by force.

In goes the feared and respected 9th Roman Legion, led by General Titus Flavius Virilus and guided by a trusted female Pictish scout to show the way. »

Very Cool Comic Poster For Centurion

4 August 2010 10:12 AM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

If you look at the posters of today compared to the posters of the 50's, 60's and 70's, you can agree on one thing - they suck. Today's posters are 95% pictures of the actors heads floating somewhere in space. Or they're facing each other, ot facing you. No matter the movie, you're gonna see some star's head somewhere on the poster for no good reason. I miss the goofy pulp posters from back in the day. This new one of a kind poster by Lobo artist Simon Bisley, is pretty awesome. Ya, it's just a comic book cover when you think about it, but in poster form for a movie it's pretty damn cool. Here's the press release:In anticipation of the nationwide theatrical release of Neil Marshall’s latest thriller, CenturionMagnolia Pictures has tapped renowned British comics artist Simon Bisley to create a one of a kind poster featuring »

Thanks to Comingsoon.net we now have a new clip from Neil Marshall’s Centurion.

The clip is a tad gruesome but definitely sets the tone for the film by matching the bloody era which it is set in. We reviewed the film way back in April, it’s odd to see the Us release lagging so far behind.

There is no need to say much about the clip except that you should watch it.

For those that don’t know much about the film here is some info for you.
