- The cinematographer Max Fassbender was busy as a photographer before he entered the film business in 1913 where he became a demanded cinematographer of the 10s.
- He died probably between 1927 and 1932.
- After a side trip to Switzerland where he filmed "Die Entstehung der Eidgenossenschaft" (25) he returned to Germany but engagements became seldom from now on. He only realised few more movies as a cinematographer.
- Most of his film works came into being for director Richard Oswald at that time.
- Although Max Fassbender belonged to the well-known cinematographers of the 10s he was not able to continue his film career successfully from the middle of the 20s.
