Fox To Develop Couples & Medical Drama Projects With Diane Farr & Peter Tolan

8 September 2010 4:29 PM, PDT | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Two alums from the underrated ABC comedy (and old favorite of mine) The Job, co-star Diane Farr and co-creator/executive producer Peter Tolan, have set up hourlong projects at Fox. Farr's project is based on her upcoming semi-autobiographical book You Can't Love One of Them, while Tolan's is a medical drama written by Glen Mazzara (The Shield). Both have received script commitments. Farr's show hails from 20th Century Fox TV and production/management company Generate, which has an overall deal with the studio. Farr will write and produce the project, which revolves around several interracial couples living in the South in a post-Obama world. Farr, whose husband is of Korean decent, developed the characters after tracking couples across America for the past five years. Generate principals Pete Aronson (The Bernie Mac Show) and Jordan Levin are executive producing. In addition to her acting credits, which include Rescue Me, Californication and Numbers, »

'Grey's Anatomy' Exclusive: Diane Farr checks in (and there's a 'House' connection)!

20 August 2010 11:56 AM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

It’s a Grey’s Anatomy/House crossover…in the absolute loosest sense of the word!

Ex-Rescue Me and Numb3rs star Diane Farr will guest in an October episode of Grey’s Anatomy as a patient with Huntington’s disease—the same ailment that Olivia Wilde’s Thirteen is living with on House.

I warned you it was a loose connection. (Cut me some slack; it’s a summer Friday.)

Farr’s character will be under the care of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and is slated to appear in this season’s fourth episode.

Review – White Collar 2.04 "By the Book"

10 August 2010 1:28 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Last week’s revelation: Diane Farr is dating Mozzie. Really. (Hey, if she dated Larry on Numb3rs…) Also, she may have been kidnapped, so it’s Neal to the rescue! Admit it, Matt Bomer would make a great superhero.

He tracks down Mozzie’s alleged girlfriend Gina’s home address, and he and Mozzie arrive to find out the place has been trashed. Neal reluctantly agrees to go in and investigate, and then Peter gets tipped off by the new agent that Neal is poking around. Elizabeth helpfully informs her husband that’s Mozzie’s new girlfriend, and the lightbulb goes on over Agent Burke’s head. While Mozzie is leading Neal on his apparent rescue attempt, Peter rallies the team to figure out just what the heck is going on. Jones hands Peter a file that says Gina’s boyfriend knows some bad people. In fact, he knows a »

Welcome to your Wednesday morning television briefing. Hugh Laurie's contract on Fox's medical drama House will expire at the end of next season, according to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, who talks to Laurie about the crossroads coming up. He claims that he's "open" to working past Season Seven but also feels that there's an ideal time to end a series and he hopes that moment becomes clear ahead of time. "I only hope we’ll know when the time is right [to close up shop]," said Laurie. "When people blunder on for five years after [they should have called it quits]… it gets taken out of your hands. Someone will say, 'That’s it.' But for now, I’m immensely proud of the things we did this season." (Entertainment Weekly's Ausiello Files) Loads of casting on HBO's upcoming comedy pilot Tilda, which may or may not be based on the life of infamous Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke. (Ahem. »

Exclusive: 'White Collar' nabs Diane Farr

Rescue Me and Numb3rs vet Diane Farr has signed on to guest-star in a season 2 episode of USA Network’s White Collar, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Farr — who memorably played against type as the chemically dependent mother of The Fairview Strangler, “Eddie,” on Desperate Housewives last season — will portray Gina De Stefano, a waitress Mozzie (Willie Garson) has a crush on. She drops a hint early in the episode that she’s in trouble and needs his help.

White Collar’s second season premieres July 13.

'Desperate Housewives' finale sneak peek: Ep on Lynette's labor pains

15 May 2010 4:28 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Note: Spoiler alert! Also, this video will expire Monday, May 17.

A few episodes back on "Desperate Housewives," we learned that Eddie (played amazingly by Josh Zuckerman) was The Fairview Strangler. After learning that Eddie had a very dysfunctional life (which crossed each housewife in one way or another), Lynette (Felicity Huffman) stepped in and invited him to stay with her.

In the last episode, Lynette discovered that The Fairview Strangler's body count was rising and that Eddie's mother was one of them. When she went to break the news to Eddie, she found herself in peril.

"She's going into labor during this episode," executive producer Bob Daily tells us. "She's there without a doctor and there are complications."

The producers went out of their way to show us that Eddie's psycho killer turn was the result of numerous monsters in his life. His father left at a very early age »

Desperate Housewives 6.20 "Epiphany" Recap

26 April 2010 12:39 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

This week's Desperate Housewives gave us the story of Eddie Orlofsky (Josh Zuckerman), aka The Fairview Strangler, in an episode I would like to call "Out of Your League": The Eddie Orlofsky Story, or "How To Become A Serial KillerDesperate Housewives Style."

Introduction – Every Story Has A Beginning…

We open with the sight of a God ugly house that is a landscape blemish on Fairview's beautiful facade. Then we find out that it is Eddie's house, immediately making me retract my statement and compare it to Norman Bates's infamous house from the Psycho films.

Eddie smiles as he looks outside, but has his moment interrupted by his mother, Barbara Orlofsky (guest star Diane Farr), who is hell personified and would make Joan Crawford a proud bitch. She gestures to Eddie that she is out of booze, insinuating that he has been stealing her stash and asks if he has any. »

The former Rescue Me and Numb3rs star will guest star in a May sweeps episode. Expect the installment to flash back to Wisteria Lane in 2994 and feature the return of Brenda Strong as Mary Alice.

Channel Surfing: "Parks" and Procreation for Poehler, Diane Farr to "Desperate Housewives," "FlashForward," Gordon Finds "Prisoners of War," and More

18 March 2010 7:39 AM, PDT | Televisionary | See recent Televisionary news »

Welcome to your Thursday morning television briefing. The mystery behind Parks and Recreation's early renewal, said to be due to a production-related issue, has been revealed: star Amy Poehler is pregnant again and the Universal Media Studios-produced comedy will film its third season early in order to accommodate Poehler's pregnancy. "We'll continue production of Season Three as soon as production of season two concludes," an NBC spokesperson told E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos. "And we'll be back next season with new episodes." Which means: Season Three will launch this fall and the cast and crew will likely take a hiatus later than usual... and it means that Poehler's Leslie Knope will not be pregnant on the series. (E! Online's Watch with Kristin) TV Guide Magazine's Will Keck is reporting that Diane Farr (Rescue Me) has been cast in an upcoming episode of ABC's Desperate Housewives "as a character who »
