Blue Bloods fans will be seeing plenty more of Danny’s newest partner, Detective Maria Baez, because actress Marisa Ramirez has been officially boosted into series regular status.
Danny is of course brought to life by Donnie Wahlberg in the CBS series. Not so long ago, his partner was Detective Jackie Curatola, acted by the beautiful Jennifer Esposito. This, my friends, is the bitter side of what is very sweet news for Ramirez.
I’m a big fan of Esposito, who has had a tumultuous few years, which led up to her finally getting diagnosed with Coeliac disease. Many can argue that the network treated the actress unfairly when they booted her from the series due to an illness that is beyond her control. There are two sides to every dispute however. The actress scolded CBS publicly for what she called “shameful” behavior.
I was hoping the break from Blue Bloods, »

Marisa Ramirez has received a nice promotion from CBS.
The actress will be a series regular when Blue Bloods returns for Season 4 in the fall, after the former Against the Wall star joined the drama toward the conclusion of Season 3.
Ramirez's Detective Maria Baez will be the permanent partner of Donnie Wahlberg's Danny going forward.
She joined the cast following a falling out between producers and Jennifer Esposito in October and also after Megan Boone and Megan Ketch briefly stopped by to fill the void.

Exclusive: Former Blue Bloods co-star Jennifer Esposito is eying her own show, this time on the unscripted side. I’ve learned that the actress is filming a pilot for E! that she also executive produces. The untitled project is a spinoff from the cable network’s upcoming docu-reality series Playing With Fire, which premieres Sunday. Esposito is among those featured on the show, which follows the personal lives and careers of tastemakers and chefs inside New York’s culinary scene. Esposito’s storyline focuses on the actress, who was diagnosed with Celiac disease five years ago, opening her New York gluten-free bakery, Jennifer’s Way. With the bakery now up and running, the pilot will chronicle Esposito’s duties running the place while juggling the other aspects of her life. Atlas Media Corp, the company behind Playing With Fire, also produces the Esposito pilot. The E! project, packaged by Buchwald Fortitude, »

Blue Bloods has found a new partner for Danny Reagan.
Marisa Ramirez (Against the Wall, Body of Proof) has been cast on five episodes of the CBS drama as Detective Maria Baez. She will debut this Friday and has the potential to come on board as a series regular in the fall.
Ramirez will represent the third temporary partner for Danny, following a four-episode arc by Megan Ketch and a three-episode shiny by Megan Boone.
The series was forced to make these changes after an ugly dispute with Jennifer Esposito led to that star's departure from the drama. »

Blue Bloods has found a new temporary partner for Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg). Marisa Ramirez (Against The Wall) has been cast for a five-episode arc playing Detective Maria Baez, who will be paired with Danny. The recurring gig comes with the possibility for Ramirez to continue as a regular next season. Ramirez’s first episode on Blue Bloods airs this Friday, and word of her casting started getting out as the network began to release images from the episode. Ramirez plays the third temporary partner for Danny this season, following a four-episode stint by Megan Ketch and a three-episode one by Megan Boone. They are filling the void left by the departure of series regular Jennifer Esposito who was put on an indefinite medical leave by Blue Bloods producer CBS TV Studios last fall and is unlikely to return to the show. Ramirez also recurs on ABC’s Body Of Proof this season. »

Amy Carlson thinks that some days on the "Blue Bloods" set, she might as well be Donnie Wahlberg's wife for real.
As Linda Reagan, the spouse of streetwise and often edgy New York police-family member Danny, the actress often has to display as strong a will as the actor she works with most closely on the Friday CBS drama. And, she notes, that's not always limited to the moments when the cameras are rolling.
"He's fun to work with," Carlson tells Zap2it. "I don't know if it's because he comes from Boston and I come from Chicago. We both come from working-class families, so there's just something familiar there. When we met, we just clicked. We were those characters immediately.
"It's funny, though," adds Carlson, who counts "Third Watch" and daytime's "Another World" among her earlier television credits. "Sometimes if we're fighting in a scene, we don't get »

Bradley Cooper is arguably the most eligible bachelor to be nominated for a Best Actor Oscar this year (and when the only other choice is Joaquin Phoenix, there's not much argument, really). So the logical question emerges: Who will be his date to the big event?
Turns out the "Silver Linings Playbook" star and one-time Sexiest Man Alive has only one woman in mind: His mother.
"When I started the profession, [my mom said] 'If you ever [get nominated] I am the date,'" Cooper told E! News on the red carpet of the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. "That was done."
"She was freaking out," Cooper said of the reaction his mother, Gloria, had to the Oscar nomination.
Until recently, Cooper was reportedly dating his "The Words" co-star Zoe Saldana. He was previously married to actress Jennifer Esposito and romantically linked to actress Renee Zellweger.
Cooper admits he was up bright and early to watch the nomination announcement on television. »

Violence on TV has been a major topic during the current TCA press tour, and along with references to the recent massacres in Aurora and Newtown, the discussion frequently included CBS‘ dark and violent serial killer procedural Criminal Minds, which was singled out for its violent content by several network executives, ncluding NBC’s Bob Greenblatt. “Look, that’s a much-maligned show,” CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler acknowledged after the TCA executive session. “I happen to enjoy the show. It’s not for everybody. It’s an adult show. It’s a suspense thriller and a character crime procedural. I don’t let my kid watch it. I do. It’s a genre show and it’s done very well.” Tassler warned that pointing the finger at individual shows with violent content is not the answer. “I think we’re making a huge mistake here — and I’d say it »
