Nick Enright was born on December 22, 1950 in Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. He was a writer and actor, known for Blackrock (1997), Lorenzo's Oil (1992) and Come in Spinner (1990). He died on March 30, 2003 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
He was awarded the A.M. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the 2004 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the performing arts, particularly as a playwright, teacher, actor and director, and as a mentor of emerging talent.
Trained at the University of Sydney (B.A. 1972) and at New York University's School of Arts.
