First Bit of Teaser Art - The Haunting in Georgia

15 November 2010 1:19 PM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Lionsgate dropped a really early bit of teaser art for The Haunting in Georgia, the upcoming second installment of its The Haunting in ... franchise (which was spawned by the hit The Haunting in Connecticut), and as always we've got the goods for ya right here.

The film directed by Eden Lake's Tom Elkins and starring Emily Alyn Lind, Chad Michael Murray, Katee Sackhoff and Abigail Spencer begins shooting very soon.

The Haunting in Georgia will focus on "the chilling story of four-year-old Heidi and her imaginary friends, Mr. Gordy and Con. As Heidi reveals mysterious details about the two, her parents become concerned ... could her playmates be more than make believe? When the rest of the family begins experiencing terrifying phenomena -- waking with deep gashes on their bodies -- it seems there's little they can do to stop the escalating nightmare."

Look for more on this one soon. »

Starbuck Heads For Georgia

Nobody really asked for it, but the sequel to the sleeper hit The Haunting in Connecticut is now well on the way, with Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff along with Abigail Spencer and Chad Michael Murray all set to endure The Haunting in Georgia.Tom Elkins, who edited the first film, is directing the supposedly real-life tale of the Wyrick family, who relocate to a haunted house with all sorts of dreadful "They're heeeeeere" consequences. Sackhoff will play the wild-child sister of Spencer. Both suffer hereditary spooky visions that they fear have been inherited by Spencer's daughter, played by Emily Alyn Lind. Murray plays Spencer's no-nonsense, blue-collar husband.A thoroughly TV roster then: Murray starred in One Tree Hill; Spencer was in the fourth season of Mad Men (although she's also in Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens); and Sackhoff, of course, was the kick-ass Kara Thrace (aka Starbuck) in Battlestar Galactica. »

First Cast For The Haunting In Georgia

26 September 2010 5:01 PM, PDT | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

It seems to be a morning for haunting stories. Charlize Theron is setting up Two Eyes Staring, and The Haunting in Georgia has its first cast member, in the diminutive form of Emily Alyn Lind.Following on from The Haunting in Connecticut, Georgia tells another story loosely based on a supposedly real happening, with another family in another state undergoing more supernatural shenanigans in a new home. It'd directed by Tom Elkins (who edited Connecticut) and written by David Coggeshall (head writer on TV series' Watch Over Me and Desire). If Emily's the main focus of the haunting, then it looks as if the film, with such a young protagonist, is trying for a Shining / Poltergeist vibe. Not an unreasonable ambition. The young actress (daughter of director John Lind and actress Barbara Alyn Woods) has Eastwick, Medium and All My Children on her TV CV, and movie-wise was previously in The Secret Life of Bees. »

First Casting News: The Haunting in Georgia

It's a pretty commonly known fact that usually children end up being the target in most hauntings. Maybe it's because they're more open-minded and haven't traded magic for fact just yet as we adults have done. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because ghosts can't stand the lil bastids!

Either way a new young lass has just scored the lead in Gold Circle Films' indirect follow-up to The Haunting in Connecticut.

Bloody Disgusting just broke the news that Emily Alyn Lind (pictured right) has been cast in the lead role of director Tom Elkins' The Haunting in Georgia.
