Syfy Moving Forward With Dominion Next Year

7 December 2013 12:15 PM, PST | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

There can be no denying that the people at Syfy are clearly in awe of Dominion, the pilot based on the 2010 film Legion. While it’s usual for Syfy to take its time when deciding whether or not to enter into a new relationship with a series, Dominion has been given a series order a mere four months after its pilot was greenlit. While I’m pretty much decided on how I feel about the potential of this series, I shall save that until the very end of this post. For now I’ll tell you what you can expect from this series when it premieres next year.

The supernatural drama is set in 25 A.E., where an army of lower angels have assembled under the leadership of Gabriel. They’ve been waging a war of possession against mankind. The archangel Michael has turned against his own kind, siding with »

NBC is likely to lose money with tonight’s debut of The Sound of Music Live!, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Instead, they’re hoping the production will do well enough to sell plenty of DVDs and soundtracks (cast recording?) and to be broadcast in the years to come at Christmas time.

Yesterday, Ryan Murphy tweeted:

All The Glee Originals received invites today to be in our 100th episode! More to follow.

Syfy Announces Casting – Charles Widmore! – and More Plot Details for Legion-Based Pilot Dominion

6 September 2013 1:00 PM, PDT | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

We first told you back in July about Syfy giving the green light to the pilot Dominion, based on characters in the 2010 film Legion. Back then we had little to go on besides a sketchy paragraph about it being set 25 years in the future after an epic war between an army of angels and humankind.

Now we have more, including not only the casting of three major characters (at least two of whom are likely familiar to you) but a lot more in the way of plot and character detail.

Although I’m completely enthusiastic and encouraging about this pilot, the fact that one of the actors, Christopher Egan, was also cast in the pilot Gothica as Dorian Gray proves that casting a pilot by no means guarantees its pickup to series.

You have been warned; get excited about this, but don’t fall in love just yet:
