'General Hospital' Renewed; 'The Revolution' Canceled

11 April 2012 3:13 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

"The Revolution" is over. Long live "General Hospital."

ABC has pulled the plug on its fledgling healthy lifestyle program "The Revolution" after less than a year on air, keeping "General Hospital" as part of its daytime schedule, HuffPost TV has confirmed. Deadline.com was first to report the news of the renewal and cancellation. ABC will also introduce a summer afternoon version of "Good Morning America."

"The Revolution" replaced "One Life to Live" in January after food program "The Chew" took "All My Children's" old timeslot. Fans were worried about the fate of "Gh" after the network announced Katie Couric's talk show would take the soap's 3 p.m. Et timeslot. There was some talk of "Gh" getting a weeknight summer run, but with the cancellation of "The Revolution," "General Hospital" is safe.

ABC canceled both "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" in 2011, with "AMC" ending in »

Ed Martin: General Hospital Update: Is it Still on Life Support?

28 March 2012 7:50 AM, PDT | Aol TV. | See recent Aol TV. news »

I'm not sure what to make of the big surprise on General Hospital this week -- but then again, I haven't known what to make of Gh in a very long time (years, actually). Robin Scorpio is alive -- and looking very tanned and rested, I might add, even if she is being held hostage in something resembling a hospital room.

Seeing Robin in that bed at the end of Monday's episode was the first time Gh has really "wowed" me since that unforgettable moment in May 1980 when Edward Quartermaine sprang back to life after faking a heart attack and shocked his daughter Tracy (and millions of viewers, as well) after she had refused to give him his medication because he wouldn't change his will. Ah, sweet memories ...

The Robin reveal was all the more impressive because it hadn't been leaked. I didn't think it was possible to keep anything »

Is It Time to Close The Office? Is Supernatural Too Trigger-Happy? Liars 'A' Letdown? And More Qs!

23 March 2012 10:46 AM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, here are some queries we’re going to lob at you, from shows including Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, How I Met Your Mother, 90210 and The Office!

1 | Does Supernatural have to kill everybody? Ok, we don’t know that Frank’s gone for good, but that Jackson Pollock-esque blood splatter does not bode well.

2 | If Once Upon a Time‘s kiss between Charming and Snow could bring her loving memories back, then Chuck Bartowski’s smooch with Sarah must have worked too… right? »

Kassie DePaiva on Blair's 'General Hospital' stint

2 March 2012 9:33 AM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Daytime’s worlds-colliding moment continues today when Kassie DePaiva brings her One Life to Live character Blair Cramer to General Hospital. The Llanview diva, last seen on the Oltl finale in January, is heading to Port Charles because her daughter Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson) was in a devastating car accident that appears to have killed Starr’s own child and boyfriend in an episode that aired last week.

“If you are a One Life to Live fan, you know that Blair is mama bear. Anything that her children needs, she is there,” says DePaiva. “When Blair arrives, she’s only aware of the car accident. »

TVLine Items: General Hospital Jilts 'Jolie' Fans, Jesse Stone Returns, Secret Circle Scoop & More

26 January 2012 12:26 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Fans of One Life to Live‘s “Jolie” (aka John/Natalie) may want to sit down for this: Michael Easton apparently spoke way too soon at a recent fan event, where he teased a May Sweeps appearance on General Hospital by his longtime leading lady, Melissa Archer.

“Despite us loving [John and Natalie], there are no immediate plans to bring her to Port Charles,” a rep for Gh told ABC Soaps in Depth, in response to the reunion rumor. (But what about baby Liam?!)

'General Hospital' Moving To Primetime?

19 January 2012 11:29 AM, PST | Aol TV. | See recent Aol TV. news »

"General Hospital," the last soap opera standing at ABC, could be moving to primetime. According to a new TV Guide report, the network is looking at a possible summer primetime run for the popular soap.

After Katie Couric's eponymous talk show debuts in September 2012, the network will be giving back the last hour of daytime to its affiliates, meaning ABC has three hours to fit four shows into: "General Hospital," "The View," "The Chew" and "The Revolution." "General Hospital" is poised to get the ax if "The Chew" and "The Revolution" -- the two lifestyle programs that replaced "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" -- perform well. "The Revolution," which premiered on Mon., Jan. 16 reportedly lost nearly 20 percent of its predecessor's audience. ABC has maintained it continues to support "General Hospital."

"General Hospital," which reportedly costs $200,000 an episode, would be much cheaper to produce than a regular primetime drama. »

Langford on Soaps: Meet Alejandro, Telemundo’s Gay on "Dangerous Relationships"

Langfords Picks And Pans

Neighbours

Not much to say here, other than I thought the scenes of a drugged out Chris revealing his innermost thoughts to be cute and funny. We don’t get to see Chris in comedic moments very often, but James Mason handled it well. I thought it was interesting how Chris prattled on about how much he liked Aiden, clearly a setup for their forthcoming romance. I’m not sure if Chris and Aiden have much chemistry, but then again, it hasn’t had a chance to develop yet. I guess we’ll see as the story moves forward.

Hollyoaks

I really think Hollyoaksdropped the ball in regards to Brendan’s handling of Declan. It’s true that Declan shouldn’t develop Brendan’s less than desirable habits and Brendan should deter that behavior in his son. But the show seems to be saying Brendan can »

'One Life to Live' finale: A look at final day of taping

After 44 years on the air, ABC’s One Life to Life ended its run today with a fittingly poignant finale that was only mildly hampered by the incorrect belief at the time of taping that there would be a future for it online.

'One Life To Live' Says Goodbye With A Shock!

13 January 2012 1:15 PM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Note: The following contains spoilers about the series finale of "One Life to Live," which aired Fri., Jan. 13 on ABC.

After 44 seasons and 11,105 episodes, "One Life to Live" has come to an end. On the final episode of the soap, which premiered on July 15, 1968, several lose ends were tied up -- literally and figuratively -- for the fine folks of Llanview. And of course, many jaws hit the floor.

Clint and Viki, the on-again-off-again king and queen of Llanview were back on, seemingly for good this time after Viki learned Clint is the biological father of Jessica. In the final moments of "One Life to Live," seen above, Todd and Blair's intimate moment was spoiled by John McBain, who was there to arrest Todd for Victor Lord Jr.'s murder. But, as viewers were shocked to find out, Victor Lord Jr. is alive, being held prisoner by none other than the nefarious Allison Perkins. »
