September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is calling upon people across the country to unite under the shared goal to end childhood cancer.
St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Helping to raise awareness for the mission is St. Jude ambassador Drew Barrymore.
“St. Jude, it’s just an unparalleled place,” said Barrymore. “They don’t charge families, and they take all the burdens and worry of daily life off the table for them.”
Since it opened its doors more than 50 years ago, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent, and it won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
“While there is much to celebrate in terms of the progress St. Jude has made in the fight against childhood cancer,...

Tina Faelz was 14 years old when she was found dead in Pleasanton, California, in April 1984 — her body bleeding from 44 stab wounds in a drainage culvert by the freeway.
Her slaying, as police describe in an exclusive clip from Monday night’s Cold Case Files, was a shock to the community.
“I was in my office when I learned of the homicide. I always dreaded getting a notification call like that,” Bill Eastman, Pleasanton’s retired police chief, recalls in the clip.
“Somebody killed a little girl,” Eastman says. “Nothing like that ever happened to such a young person in Pleasanton’s history.

The Ribald Tales Of Canterbury
(dir: Bud Lee, 1985)
We’ve all been there at some point. A long journey with nothing to do. All of a sudden, someone comes up with the idea of sharing stories and laughs to help pass the time. Yeah, maybe not everyone has been there, but I had to set the scene somehow right? The first film on this double feature release from Vinegar Syndrome follows the journey of a group of noblemen and women headed by the Hostess Hyapatia Lee (Let’s Get Physical) en route to Canterbury. She proposes a wager with her fellow travellers. Each places the grand sum of 20 pence in to a small pouch and whoever can recall the best erotic tale on their journey wins all. It’s certainly a novel way to pass the time! The stories range from a humble knight having a surprising (in the best...

Mai Lin vs. Serena
Carlos Tobalina (The Ultimate Pleasure, I Am Always Ready) has a little bit of a problem. He has a new film lined up and needs to find his leading lady. His options are the cute blonde Serena (Dracula Sucks, Pleasure Palace) and fiery Mai Lin (Oriental Madam, Peepholes). To help him solve his casting troubles, the pair decide to play a little game. They set off to compete against each other in the form of challenges. Starting by giving diners of a local restaurant something much tastier than the house special. Yes, this is one dining experience they will never forget! Once they have finished that, they move on to a local “kinda” gay bar and hit it off straight away with a cute lesbian couple. As a result of their public displays of competitive affection, the pair find themselves in jail (I’m guessing, because it just happens) but,...

"They were doing some weird hand sign in the form of a triangle" — beloved New York radio personality Craig Carton apparently is not hip to the famed Jay-z Roc-a-Fella hand signal.
Carton was one of the hosts of CBS' broadcast of the World Series-winning New York Yankees' victory parade down Manhattan's Canyon of Heroes. Huge Yankee fan Jay-z actually showed his team pride by getting on the float with one of the team's franchise players, Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez. Throughout the Bronx Bombers' World Series run, Hov has been vocal and active with his love of his favorite Major League team.
Jay was slated to perform "Empire Mind State" with Alicia Keys during the opening game of the World Series last week, but due to inclement weather the duo did not perform until game 2.

Before his World Series performance of "Empire State of Mind," Jay-z got to play the field — literally. Hov told Espn's "Mike and Mike in the Morning" that he got a chance to roam the green and imagined catching a ball and doubling a guy out at home plate.
"I felt like a kid," he said. "The field is beautiful. I've never been that close to the field. Walking around, I jumped over the center-field fence and everything, like I was catching a home run."
Talking to MTV News earlier in the week, before Thursday's performance with Alicia Keys, Hov noted he loves attending games at Yankee Stadium and hearing his music.
