Finally, A Better Taste Of 'Metal Gear Solid V''s English Voice Acting

25 September 2013 9:15 AM, PDT | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

We've seen bits and pieces of the new "Metal Gear" for some time now, but mostly in Japanese. But at long last, Konami has released the opening to "Ground Zeroes", which serves as the prologue to "The Phantom Pain", the main portion of "Metal Gear Solid V", with English voice acting.

Again, the following should be familiar to most folks, but most "Mgs" diehards should not mind another viewing:

Obviously the big news here is Kiefer Sutherland's presence, who replaces series regular David Hayter. And… his take on Big Boss is definitely different. Not necessarily better, and certainly not worse than Hayter, just different.

Meanwhile, Robin Atkin Downes is back as the voice of Kazuhira Miller, a role he's more or less perfected in "Peace Walker". And he sounds as great as last time.

Whereas whomever doing the voice of Skull Face is just as bad as the name of the new character. »

Producer Adam McKay talks Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, on Blu-ray this week

Writer/Producer/Director Adam McKay is known for his legendary comedy masterworks, such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Step Brothers and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, so it might surprise you to learn that he and longtime collaborator/producing partner Will Ferrell had a strong hand in ushering the R rated fantasy adventure Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters to the screen. They were there from the beginning, and saw director Tommy Wirkola's version through to the end. What we're left with is one of the funnest, weirdest movies of the year.

If you missed it in theaters, this ruckus tale, which reveals what happened to brother and sister duo Hansel and Gretel after the Gingerbread House incident (hint: they grew up to become Witch Hunters and avenge their parents' death), is finally available on »

6 June 2013 5:53 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Nearing a wrap on his long-awaited sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues, writer/producer/director Adam McKay took a few minutes out of his day to chat about next week's release of the Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters - Rated and Unrated Versions Blu-ray. The original Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is a film few people know as a Will Ferrell/Adam McKay production. But the duo was with the project from the first stages of its inception to its final incarnation on screen. And they are returning for the sequel, which is currently in pre-production.

Adam hinted at the scope of this sequel, which he can't wait to see, crediting director Tommy Wirkola for the success of the first film. He promises that Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 2 has the potential to go completely off the rails.

"It's this deranged Norwegian geek, and he has been given the wheel to this giant corporate money making behemoth. »

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 2 Moves Forward

18 March 2013 4:55 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Paramount Pictures and MGM have confirmed that a sequel to Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is in the works. The news comes on the same day that director Tommy Wirkola's fairy tale action-thriller crossed the $200 million plateau at the worldwide box office, a milestone which was integral in both studios deciding to make a sequel.

Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton star as the title characters, 15 years after their nasty experience at the gingerbread house. While the two stars will most likely be back for seconds, their involvement has not been confirmed. It isn't known if writer-director Tommy Wirkola will be back at the helm. While the first movie made just $54 million at the domestic box office since opening in January, it has earned well over $150 million internationally for a current global tally of $205.8 million.

Irrational Reveals The Full Voice Cast For 'Bioshock Infinite'

15 March 2013 1:51 PM, PDT | MTV Multiplayer | See recent MTV Multiplayer news »

Troy Baker will be playing Booker while Courtnee Draper takes on the role of Elizabeth as Irrational lays out the "Mass Effect," "Kingdom Hearts II," and "Sealab 2021" vets among the cast portraying the heroes and villains of "Bioshock Infinite."

You can find the full cast list after the jump.

The coolest thing about this cast list is that it's populated by veteran voice actors and not simply sprinkled liberally with television and film actors putting in a couple of hours in the booth. "Dishonored" had a great cast of performers turning in one of the more uninspired collection of voice overs in recent memory.

Courtnee Draper

Revisionist, Violent Fairy Tale to Top North American Box Office

25 January 2013 11:47 PM, PST | Alt Film Guide | See recent Alt Film Guide news »

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters box office: No. 1 on North American chart? Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as tightly clad, glamorously sexy machine-gun-toting witch hunters, is expected to open at the North American box office with a passable $7m-$8m at 3,372 theaters on Friday, including $500,000 earned at Thursday late evening / midnight screenings. If those early, rough Friday estimates are on target, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters should end up in the high teens by Sunday evening. (Photo: Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Jeremy Renner glamorously aims to kill.) Although Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters could not be considered a downright bomb, in case those early box-office estimates are indeed accurate they would hardly indicate a great opening for a movie that reportedly cost $50m, not including marketing and distribution expenses. And that has the advantage of 3D ticket surcharges at about 2,900 venues. At Box Office Mojo, for instance, »

Exclusive: Derek Mears Talks Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Actor Derek Mears discusses his role in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, in theaters January 25

Those who have met Derek Mears in person, as I have both on and off the set, know him to be an incredibly exuberant, energetic, and downright funny man who spends many weekends performing with improv groups in L.A. Those who have only seen his work on the screen may not even know what he looks like after his masked turns as Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th remake and the "Classic Predator" in Predators.

This year, the former stuntman-turned-actor will be "unmasked," slightly, with prosthetic-enhanced roles in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, opening in theaters January 25, and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, debuting August 16. Fans will get to see him fully unmasked in Hatchet III, where he squares off with another Jason Voorhes alum, Kane Hodder. I recently had the privilege of »
