- Wendy Douglas began singing, dancing and acting as a drama major at Sacramento State College. While there she was crowned Miss California and went on to compete in the Miss America Pageant. Shortly after relocating to Southern California she began a yearlong tour with Johnny Mathis' group the Young Generation. She was one of Dean Martin's Original Golddiggers on his first summer replacement show. Next came a long relationship with a group called The Celebration. The group worked all over the world as a featured act and backup to many celebrities such as Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck, Bobby Darin, Frankie Avalon, Bob Newhart and a USO tour with Bob Hope. They were also featured on several television specials with Bing Crosby, Carol Burnett, Andy Williams, Flip Wilson and Don Knotts.
