BBC America’s Copper doesn’t return until summer, but the wait for your first taste of the show’s sophomore season is over.
First, EW has an exclusive peek at the second season’s key art, featuring new cast member Donal Logue (Terriers), who joins this season as the Sixth Ward boss and Civil War general Brendan Donovan (above.)
EW also has the season’s first trailer, which features a quick first glimpse of Alfre Woodward. As previously reported, the actress has a five-episode arc on the show, which returns with 13 new episodes on June 23.

On Sunday's (April 21) episode of "Vikings" on History, Donal Logue enters as Horik, King of Denmark.
For those of you keeping track, this means Logue will soon be on three cable shows. He's Lee Toric, the violent ex-us Marshal on FX' "Sons of Anarchy" and on June, 23 he joins BBC America's "Copper" as political ward boss Brendan Donovan.
Tonight, though look for the red beard as King Horik, who initially seems to be an ally of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).
"It's complicated," Logue tells Zap2it of his character's relationship to Ragnar. "Ragnar's exploits made their way up the chain to the king and he was bright enough to know that instead of being threatened, [he says,] 'I will like what you are doing.'"

Apart from being one of my favorite actors, Donal Logue is also coming up in three of my favorite shows. Unfortunately (maybe), once in a while you find yourself in an interview that turns out, somehow, not to actually be one. You have your questions set out. You know the shows and the talking points. Your subject is equally prepared to run through the routine of extolling the virtues of whatever they happen to be working on. But, it doesn’t end up going that way.
These are the interviews which ultimately find you running out of time, and scrambling for something, and spitting out, “Umm… tell me about the show.”

Production has begun on season two of BBC America's Copper TV series. The series is currently filming in Toronto and that will continue through July. They've ordered 13 hour episodes.
In addition, actor Donal Logue has joined the cast as a new character, Brendan Donovan; a former Civil War General.

According to TVLine, the "Glee" and "Heroes" vet is stopping by "The Good Wife" to play Jane Ludwig, the widow of an Illinois Supreme Court justice who was killed in a car accident.

Timothy Busfield is swinging by "Revolution." The "West Wing" actor will guest star on the freshman NBC series as a “brilliant doctor protecting a devastating secret." [EW]

The Office‘s David Denman is set to co-star in CBS’ Beverly Hills Cop pilot from Shawn Ryan, Eddie Murphy and Sony Pictures TV. The hourlong project, a continuation of the movie franchise, centers on Axel Foley’s police officer son Aaron (Brandon T. Jackson), who takes down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. Denman will play Brad, a stand-up, extremely likable and socially awkward Beverly Hills detective, formerly a baseball player and a musician. Denman, repped by UTA, the Hofflund Co and attorney James Adams, will next be seen in the Steve Jobs biopic jOBS and M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth. In a statement released this morning, BBC America announced that production is underway on Cooper Season 2 - and that Donal Logue has joined the cast of this well-reviewed 1865-based drama.
A TV Fanatic favorite for his roles on Terriers and Sons of Anarchy, the actor will portray Brendan Donovan, a General just back from the Civil War battlefields and stationed in Five Points.
Look for the character to assert himself as one of the most powerful men in New York's political machine.
Copper stars Tom Weston-Jones as Detective Kevin Corcoran, an Irish-American cop who is after justice in mid-19th century Big Apple.
“Season two is driven by flawed and haunted characters living in explosive times,” says creator Tom Fontana. “Each of them is looking for renewal in the wake of last season’s revelations and violent upheaval. The ongoing storylines follow Detective Corcoran and company on their paths to redemption or ruin. »
