Tamara Dobson was born on May 14, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA as Tamara Janice Dobson. She is known for her work on Cleopatra Jones (1973), Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold (1975) and Chained Heat (1983). She died on October 2, 2006 in Baltimore.

A former fashion model who appeared in Vogue, Essence, Mademoiselle, Redbook and Ebony magazines, she made a brief dent in 1970s blaxploitation flicks.
The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes the 6' 2" Dobson as the tallest leading lady ever in film.
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2000.
Lived most of her adult life in New York.
Received a special tribute as part of the Annual Memorial tribute at The 79th Annual Academy Awards (2007).
Profiled in "Women of Blaxploitation: How the Black Action Film Heroine Changed American Popular Culture" by Yvonne D. Sims (McFarland, 2006).
Prior to making films, she appeared in some 25 television commercials.
