Sony Pictures is very confident in their Spider-Man franchise, and they should be! Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man did very well, and it was embraced by many of the fans. The sequel is set to be released on May 2nd, 2014, and it's also shaping up to be a great looking movie. I have no doubt it's going to be a solidly entertaining sequel. I love the stuff I've seen from the set photos. This most recent Spider-Man reboot definitely got more love from the fans than the new Superman movie did, which I find interesting.
The studio has announced that they will be releasing The Amazing Spider-Man 3 on June 10th, 2016, and part 4 on May 4th, 2018. There's no word on who will be back for these new films, but I'm sure that director Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker), and Shailene Woodley (Mary Jane) will be back.
I'm excited »

Crazy rumors were flying about not too long ago that Sony was looking to unload it's Spider-Man franchise license back to Marvel in order to save money in other aspects. Sony vehemently denied such claims as ridiculous (which they were), but today they've made it painfully clear to any doubters, that they aren't giving up Spider-Man ever, as they've announced release dates for both Amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4.
I guess today's the day for sequel news. Earlier we reported on the Man of Steel sequel, and now Sony is showboating it's hottest franchise around. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is still currently filming, and we've yet to even see so much as a trailer from it (which isn't unexpected since it's release is a year from now), but Sony is already looking ahead. They sent out a press release just a little bit ago in which they announced The Amazing Spider-Man 3 »

Production has been well underway on Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for a while now, and it looks like Sony are beyond confident in its success next year. So confident are they that they’re shoring up the franchise, announcing tonight that they are moving forward with a further two films, and setting their release date at two-year intervals down the line.
When we heard last summer that The Amazing Spider-Man would become the first film in a new trilogy, I had a very strong feeling that Andrew Garfield could be the new Spidey for more than just three films.
That feeling started to be confirmed when Shailene Woodley was cast as Mary Jane Watson for next year’s sequel – with Emma Stone returning as Gwen Stacy, you couldn’t help but feel that Mary Jane Watson would have a small role in the first sequel, which would »

Remember those eerie pictures of Jamie Foxx as Electro in "Amazing Spider-Man 2"? AOL just one-upped those photos with video footage of the actor stumbling through Times Square, all Electro-fied. The footage even has a shot of Foxx sans oversized hoodie, revealing his bald, blue head. But whether or not Foxx will be that blue on the big screen remains to be seen, since some of the photos and footage make him seem much more silver than blue. Check out the full video below.
Jamie Foxx As You've Never Seen Him Before
It seems obvious to me that this scene takes place just after Electro gets his powers. The way Foxx is stumbling around, he looks like he's been physically harmed. I doubt he'll be wearing a hoodie and jeans when he goes toe-to-toe with Spider-Man. Maybe there's still hope that Electro will have a costume reminiscent »

According to a "trusted" but anonymous source for Chud, Marvel is looking at "Iron Man 2" screenwriter, and all around awesome actor dude Justin Theroux to tie on the red cape and garish garb of the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange.
Dr. Strange is another Stan Lee/Steve Ditko creation and has been Marvel's resident swinging, psychedelic, mystic, New York Village-dwelling magic man since his first appearance in 1963's "Strange Tales" #110.
Strange -- if handled the way he was by those Marvel maniacs during the fun, experimental 1960's -- would make for a perfect movie character, and along with Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man," would introduce a new, super-fun side to the Marvel cinema landscape. Theroux is a perfect choice for the role. He'd bring his smarmy, smooth, rougeish, slightly crazy charm to the role not seen in a Marvel flick since Robert Downey Jr. first shocked us »

According to Chud, Marvel is moving forward with a "Doctor Strange" movie and is considering Justin Theroux to play the role. It's not clear if other actors are being looked at, but it's rumored that Theroux is already working on the script. Theroux starred in such films as "Wanderlust," "Your Highness," and "American Psycho," and is known for his toned physique. The actor is also responsible for the scripts for "Tropic Thunder," "Iron Man 2" and "Rock of Ages." Originated in 1963 by Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, Dr. Strange was a self-centered New York surgeon robbed of his touch after a car accident. After a stint as a wandering derelict, he found his way to a healer in the Himalayas, where he learned to tap into psychic powers to battle evil wizards and other wrongdoers. Other actors previously rumored to play the role have been Viggo Mortensen, Adrien Brody and Patrick Dempsey. »

Justin Theroux has been rumoured for Doctor Strange.
Marvel Studios wants the Wanderlust star to take the lead role in its Phase Three film, according to Chud.
The report says that it is unclear whether other actors are being considered for the role.
Theroux previously worked with Marvel as the screenwriter for 2010's Iron Man 2.
Studio head Kevin Feige recently confirmed that Doctor Strange would join Edgar Wright's Ant-Man in Marvel's Phase Three. Its Phase Two will shortly launch with Iron Man 3 and will conclude with 2015's Avengers 2.
A formerly egotistical neurosurgeon, Stephen Strange turns to the mystic arts after an accident damages his hands. The character was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1963.
Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez and his writing partner Rodo Sayagues were rumoured to have met with Marvel regarding Doctor Strange. »
