James McAvoy in First Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's Thriller 'Split'

"He knows what you're here for. He listens to me..." Shyamalan is back with another thriller. Universal has unveiled a trailer for Split, the latest film written & directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The psychological supernatural thriller stars James McAvoy as a man haunted by 23 different personalities in his mind as part of dissociative identity disorder. The full cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy (from The Witch), Haley Lu Richardson, Kim Director, Jessica Sula, Sterling K. Brown, Betty Buckley and Brad William Henke. This looks very interesting, unlike any kind of psychological thriller we've seen before, and I think that's a good thing. Last year, just one month after director M. Night Shyamalan and producer Jason Blum released their new thriller The Visit, Universal Pictures announced a January 20, 2017 release date for the pair's next movie, Split. We haven't heard anything about this mystery project since then, but today we finally have the first trailer from this harrowing thriller. While James McAvoy has become quite popular for his portrayal of Professor X in 20th Century Fox's X-Men prequel trilogy, Spilt will showcase a much more sinister side to this beloved actor's repertoire.

M. Night Shyamalan returns to the captivating grip of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs with Split, an original thriller that arrives in theaters January 2017. Following last year's breakout hit The Visit, Shyamalan reunites with producer Jason Blum (The Purge and Insidious series, The Gift) for the film.
