'Game Of Thrones' Season Two Trailer: Cold Winds

12 December 2011 7:55 AM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

In "Game of Thrones," the flamboyant Braavos swordsman Syrio Forel taught his young protégé Arya Stark to "see with your eyes" and "hear with your ears." In the case of the brand new "Game of Thrones" season two preview, I'd echo Syrio's wisdom and encourage you to listen very closely.

Though there are plenty of beautiful visuals on display worth gawking at, it's the words you're hearing that make this new "Thrones" footage so captivating. Specifically, they're the words of Stannis Baratheon: younger brother of the late King Robert, older brother of self-anointed renegade King Renly, and the man who would sit upon the Iron Throne.

"My brother left no trueborn heirs," drones the cool voice of Stannis, played by actor Stephen Dillane, as images of the various "Game of Thrones" players still in the mix (see: no Ned Stark) flow across the screen. "By right and birth and blood »

New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 2 Trailer: Stannis Threatens Joffrey’s Crown

12 December 2011 7:18 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

No baby dragons to speak of (yet), but the latest trailer for HBO's epic series is still pretty terrifying. Watch it now! If I were Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), I'd be clutching my crown -- and wetting my royal knickers -- right about now. The voice of Robert's brother Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) bellows in the latest trailer for Game of Thrones' upcoming second season, and his terrifying monologue is full of not-so-idle threats. Words like "loyalty" and "destroy" get thrown around as he lays claim to the iron throne of Westeros. If you thought winter was going to be bad, just wait until Stannis shows up. "Let all true men declare their loyalty," Stannis warns. "The iron throne is mine by right. They will bend a knee or I will destroy them." Along with these spooky words, this new trailer also gives us a look at some of our favorite characters, »

'Game of Thrones' Season 2 teaser: 'The cold winds are rising'

11 December 2011 8:12 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Tease - Cold Winds Are Rising

HBO unveiled a new teaser for Season 2 of "Game of Thrones" Sunday night (Dec. 11), and like the one that debuted three weeks ago, it's pretty dark and brooding.

The 45-second spot is filled with dimly lit shots of most of the (still living) key players from Season 1, looking contemplative and/or worried. Renly Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) says in voiceover that he's laying claim to the Iron Throne, since Robert left "no true-born heir."

That's unlikely to go over well with the Lannisters, but Stannis doesn't much care: "They will bend a knee or I will destroy them," he says. He closes with the Season 2 tagline, "The cold winds are rising."

"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO in April. What do you think of the new teaser?

For the record: An earlier version of this post misidentified the character giving the voiceover narration. »

New Trailer for Game Of Thrones Shows off First Footage from Season 2

11 December 2011 7:52 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.  The new trailer provides the first glimpse of the second season, mainly with characters looking pensive and/or worried.  But what sells it is the voice over from Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane).  You may recall that King Robert (Mark Addy) bequeathed the Iron Throne to his brother Stannis until the Wretched Little Shit Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) came of age.  However, Joffrey and his mother Cersei basically usurped the throne, and Stannis is clearly none too happy about it.  Last season, the tagline was "Winter Is Coming".  Now it looks like "Cold Winds Are Rising".  Bring A Jacket (or pelt, or whatever). Hit the jump to check out the new trailer.  Season 2 of Game of Thrones premieres April 2012. Via HBO. »

Watch: 'The cold winds are rising' in new 'Game of Thrones' Season 2 teaser

HBO has released a new teaser for Season 2 of the medieval fantasy series "Game of Thrones" which features an ominous voiceover from British actor Stephen Dillane ("John Adams"), who will be introduced as King Robert's (Mark Addy) brother Stannis Baratheon in the upcoming season.  Given that we're still in the early phases of marketing for the new season, which doesn't premiere until April, the 47-second clip doesn't show much - only a few shots of the main cast members under Dillane's foreboding voiceover, where he lays claim to the Iron Throne as his brother "left no true-born heirs". And, later: »
