1 May 2009 8:51 AM, PDT | From Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news

Starz channel owns Friday night for comedy. Their bright spot original comedy series are "Head Case" and "Party Down." Starz has sent over some clips for tonight's episodes. "Case" stars improv comedian Alexandra Wentworth as Dr. Elizabeth Goode, a narcissistic $450-an-hour therapist whose own issues trump her famous clients she treats in Beverly Hills. Unscripted and improvised episodes feature Goode (and her office-mate Dr. Myron Finklstein, played by Steve Landesberg) violating every ethical Doctor-patient rule. Goode entertains her "patients" Macy Gray, Jerry Seinfeld, Janeane Garofalo, James Denton, Paulina Porizkova, Kevin Nealon, designer Isaac Mizrahi and magician Lance Burton this season. An Emotional Send-off for Nicollette Sheridan

19 April 2009 10:02 AM, PDT | From TheInsider.com | See recent The Insider news

As Nicollette Sheridan makes her final appearance tonight as a series regular on ABC's "Desperate Housewives," some fellow cast mates are speaking out on her emotional departure. Teri Hatcher -- who plays the sweet Susan Mayer often at odds with Sheridan's character Edie -- got misty-eyed when speaking to the Associated Press about filming Sheridan's final episode. "I made a scrapbook as my sort of parting gift, and it reminded me of how great those two characters were together," she said at a panel discussion on the show at an event held at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. Fellow cast member James Denton, whose plumber character Mike was the longtime object of Edie's affections, said Sheridan handled her last days on the set with utmost professionalism. "Her attitude made them completely bearable. It could have been tough and sad, but she was so great," AP quoted him as saying.

With Sunday night bringing the final episode of Desperate Housewives to star original cast member Nicollette Sheridan - who is leaving the show for good - her neighbors on Wisteria Lane gathered to pay brief tribute to her during a panel discussion about Housewives at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. According to James Denton (the actor whose plumber Mike on the ABC show was the object of Sheridan's character Edie's insatiable lust), at the table-read of the first script that would not feature Sheridan, she took a moment to address the writers and actors. "She said, 'While you're all together,

James Denton resists playing gay, though not hosting Miss America

30 March 2009 8:58 AM, PDT | From AfterElton.com | See recent AfterElton.com news

Its amazing what a little "gay flavoring" will do for a TV series' exposure. (At least around here!) Apparently the comedy Head Case has been airing on Starz for 3 whole seasons and I've never even heard of the darn thing.

That's a little surprising, because based upon this weekend's episode it seems exactly the sort of thing I'd watch.

HeadCase is an improvisational comedy which follows Hollywood therapist Dr. Jane Goode (Alexandra Wentworth). You sit it on her counseling sessions with various celebrities willing to poke fun at their public image.

Friday's episode featured amusing appearances by Desperate Housewives' show runner Marc Cherry, and actors Kevin Rahm & James Denton.  The setup: Cherry wants the character Mike Delfino to go gay, only he is getting a lot of resistance from Denton, the actor who plays him. Rahm is there to help convince Denton that going gay is a logical step for his character.

Longoria Parker And Sheridan's Celebratory Food Fight

18 March 2009 12:20 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Eva Longoria Parker and Nicollette Sheridan celebrated the 100th episode of Desperate Housewives in unusual style - by indulging in a messy food fight.

The hit show wrapped filming on the landmark installment last year and the cast members treated themselves to a luxury cake.

But Sheridan had other plans for it, according to actor James Denton, who plays Mike Delfino on the popular series.

He tells British TV show This Morning, "We brought a cake in and Nicollette and Eva got in a food fight. Nicollette started it, grabbing a big cake, smashed it in her face!

"That was our big party, then it was back to work. Seriously, she (Eva) had to go back wash her hair, re-do her make-up and go back to shooting."

Weekly TV Wrap Up - February 19th, 2009

19 February 2009 7:02 AM, PST | From ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news

As we all know, ratings weren’t too hot for Dollhouse and Sarah Connor Chronicles. Dollhouse did better than expected, while The Sarah Connor Chronicles did suffer the consequences of the dreaded Friday night time slot. That’s an ouch. But I also touch a little on what I saw on Battlestar Galactica, have a bit of Smallville cast news and more cast has been hired for the NCIS spin-off that everyone waiting for. And a few other tidbits & dribbles along the way.

Dollhouse

I think we need to chalk up ratings to a very narrowly focused group of people. With the blinders on, the advertisers trust in them pretty blindly considering how the viewing technology has changed. Why am I yet again (like I always seem to do), bashing the ratings system? Because even though Dollhouse underperformed in its Friday night time slot, it has found its way to
