Pam is a constant student of filmmaking continually honing her craft. Currently, along with working as a Sound Designer, Pam is teaching Sound Editorial and Design at Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema.
She has worked in all phases of professional film production. Beginning as in-house crew on industrial and educational films, her work spanned pre-production through print, including research, budget, production management, sound recording, camera assistant, picture editing and sound editorial. She had been indoctrinated as a teenager by The Broadway Local Video Collective funded by NYS Council On The Arts. The collective made documentaries about local citizens and issues on the Upper Westside of Manhattan for early Public Access cable.
As an Assistant Picture Editor to Academy Award winning Documentarian, Richard Schmiechen Pam gained valuable experience in the crafts of story telling. With Richard's guidance, she successfully edited Picture on high-end industrial films. She then worked as a production recordist on documentary films and boom operator on feature films, and made-for-Tv movies.
In 1985 her focus shifted to Sound Design full-time. Now, working closely with well known Directors, Picture Editors and Actors, Pam enjoys various roles in completing a projects soundscape. Often ultimately responsible for the completion of sound on studio productions.
In addition to budgeting and supervising editorial crews, Pam ran a small business for 3 years which had 4 full time employees.
Pam is the daughter of Songwriter Claude DeMetruis.
