Atlantis: Production Begins on Season Two

Production has begun on the second season of BBC America's Atlantis series. It's unclear how many installments have been ordered this time but the first season had 13 episodes. Season two is expected to start airing next year.

Atlantis series 2 begins filming, guest stars announced

BBC One's Atlantis has begun filming its second series.

The cast of the family fantasy show have reunited to start shooting the next run in Chepstow, Wales.

Aiysha Hart, who appears as Ariadne, and Juliet Stevenson, who plays The Oracle, are among the old faces to return, while series two will also welcome new additions Vincent Regan (300) as Dion and Amy Manson (Being Human) as Medea.

Game of Thrones star Robert Pugh - who appeared as Craster in the HBO hit - and Broadchurch actor Peter De Jersey have been confirmed as guest stars for episode one of the new run.

The show's creators Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy said: "It's wonderful to have everyone back in the studio together as we prepare to take Atlantis to new places in series two.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Hamlet’ With ‘Doctor Who’ Star David Tennant

Chicago – Having been a theater major who openly knelt at the altar of William Shakespeare for many of my formative stage years and then later became a film critic, I believe the number of versions of “Hamlet” I have seen to number around eight - three times on stage and five on celluloid. And yet I still was blown away by BBC’s production of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre version of the timeless play.

Blu-Ray Rating: 4.5/5.0

The first version of “Hamlet” available on Blu-ray (Branagh’s 1996 version will be available in August) also happens to be the best in years. The modernized-but-faithful telling of the Bard’s classic tale of betrayal and revenge was a critical smash when it premiered at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and someone at the BBC was smart enough to suggest that perhaps a filmed record of the show might be in order.
