Suicide Squad final running time revealed

5 hours ago | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

The running time for DC and Warner Brothers’ upcoming DC villains movie Suicide Squad has been revealed. The studio have said that David Ayer‘s movie will run at 130 minutes when it is finally released on August 5th.

Ayer confirmed that the picture is pretty much locked in a recent tweet.

Squad is completed! Finished final mix and coloring. Now it’s off to the lab and then the world. Nothing like it out there. It.Is.a.Beast.

David Ayer (@DavidAyerMovies) June 24, 2016

Here’s the plot.

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. »

Suicide Squad Is Outpacing Rogue One And Fantastic Beasts In Terms Of Social Media Buzz

7 hours ago | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Suicide Squad is the last major blockbusters of the summer, and while Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was far from a flop, you'd best believe that Warner Bros. is praying that it ends up being a hit.  Well, they'll be glad to hear that the DC Comics adaptation is currently generating more social media buzz than every other 2016 release (including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which was the focus of a week long series of high profile Entertainment Weekly pieces last week). The movie is also beating big July releases like Star Trek Beyond and Ghostbusters, an undeniably good sign for it chances of success. Of course, social media buzz doesn't guarantee box office success (who knows what the reviews will be like), but the fact that people are interested in such an obscure property is definitely good news.  Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, »

Suicide Squad Is The Most Talked About Film On Social Media

According to Deadline, Warner Bros.’ upcoming Suicide Squad is currently the most talked about film on social media, which probably shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given the aggressive marketing campaign that the studio has been rolling out as of late.

The metric is measured by ComScore’s PreAct, where Suicide Squad generated 66k social media conversations last week, bringing its total PreAct convos to a staggering 1.3 million. That means it’s beating out some other fairly heavy hitters like Rogue One A Star Wars Story, Ghostbusters and Star Trek Beyond. Again, not surprising given the vast amount of positive buzz surrounding the film.

Trailers, TV spots, posters, photos – we’ve seen it all at this point, and with less than two months to go now before Suicide Squad makes its grand entrance in theatres, we’re more than ready for David Ayer’s explosive, »

Awesome New Look At Jared Leto As The Joker In Suicide Squad

9 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

See Full Gallery Here

There are a lot of reasons to be excited about Suicide Squad, but Jared Leto’s take on The Joker has to be somewhere near the top of that list. After all, the Oscar winning actor looks set to deliver a very unique take on the Clown Prince of Crime in the movie, something which is evident from the fact he went method during shooting.

Now, four brand new images of Leto in character have surfaced. It’s not immediately clear where these originated, but chances are that these are screengrabs from a featurette on the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut, which is now available on Digital HD.

'Suicide Squad' standee shows they just can't treat Enchantress with an ounce of respect

16 hours ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Despite having a cast that is as close to gender parity as we’ve ever seen in a superhero film, Suicide Squad has struggled with their representation of women. Other than Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), the women of the Squad have been sexualized for the male gaze. Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) suffer the most, but even Katana (Karen Fukuhara) is baring her midriff for reasons unknown. I’ve gone Ham on Warner Bros. in past articles about their treatment of the Squad ladies — particularly Enchantress — but this latest piece of promotional material hammers home the differences in how men and women are portrayed in this world. Courtesy of @DC_Extended, the standee display features the entire cast sans Joker (Jared Leto). Image Credit: @DC_Extended The bare arms of Diablo (Jay Hernandez) are the most skin you see on a male Squad member, while the women are probably a bit chilly. »

Suicide Squad runtime revealed

18 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

This past Friday, director David Ayer revealed that post-production work was finished on Suicide Squad, and the hotly-anticipated DC movie was off to the lab ahead of its release in August.

Well, according to Collider, we now know the runtime for the supervillain team-up, with the site reporting that the film will run for 130 minutes. The two-hour, ten-minute runtime makes it the shortest DC Extended Universe release to date, with Man of Steel running at 143 minutes and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 151 minutes.

Report: Suicide Squad Runtime Clocks In At 130 Minutes

Sources close to Collider claim that Suicide Squad will stretch for just over two hours when David Ayer’s anti-hero feature lands in August.

Closing in on the end of post-production, with tie-in music videos already beginning to surface, a report emerging today seemingly reveals that Warner Bros.’ hotly-anticipated tentpole will run for exactly 130 minutes, credits included.

Take this one with a pinch of salt, of course, considering that David Ayer’s latest status report from WB noted that the production team still have a handful of last-minute tasks to tick off (read: final mix and coloring).

For the sake of perspective, and assuming Collider’s sources are on point, at 130 minutes in length, Suicide Squad would clock in as one of the shorter superhero movies to emerge from the genre in recent times. Green Lantern, for instance, »

The Bad Guys Assemble On A New Suicide Squad Theater Standee; Official Runtime Revealed

20 hours ago | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Below you'll find a snap of a cool new Suicide Squad theater standee (via Comicbook.com) featuring most of the movie's main characters: Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Deadshot (Will Smith), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) and Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). No sign of Jared Leto's Joker, but we already know he won't actually be a member of Task Foprce X so that makes sense. In addition, Collider reckon they've managed to confirm that the film will run for a substantial enough 130 minutes with credits. This follows a debunked rumor that it'd only be 1 hour and 40 minutes long. »

Jared Leto Talks Playing the Joker in 'Suicide Squad'

Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto was interviewed recently for his upcoming role in Warner Bros. Pictures "Suicide Squad" starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Leto was asked what audiences can expect going into theatre saying:

"You can anticipate a lot of chaos and a hell of a lot of fun. And, I think, something completely different than other movies in the genre."

On what is was like portraying the Joker, Leto said:

"Aww, it was a role of a lifetime. Really, it was an incredible honor to be asked to play the part. Look, there have been so many incredible performances of the Joker over the years. Then there’s the wonderful artists that have drawn this character and the writers that have written the Joker for 75 years and more through television and film and animated projects. 'Suicide Squad': New "Sucker for Pain" Music Video Ft. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons

24 June 2016 5:35 AM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

A couple days ago, WB released the official "Heathens" music video, which is a song from the Suicide Squad album. Now, they've released yet another music video.

This time around, it's the explicit song "Sucker for Pain" featuring Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Imagine Dragons. Like with "Heathens," this music largely features a lot of footage from the trailers of the film, though there are a few extra extensions of previously-seen shots in here. And also like the music video before, most of the footage is from Belle Reve, with a few limited shots outside of what we assume to be the opening sequence. There is also definitely a bit more of a focus on the Joker this time around, but it's nothing significant.

Check out the music video for yourself below!

Thoughts I Had... The 'Suicide Squad' Character Posters

24 June 2016 5:00 AM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

After Finding Dory's big opening this past weekend, our last remaining potential mega hit of the summer is Suicide Squad. The twist on the superhero super-antihero blockbuster is our only comic book film of the season left (shocking, right?) and is pushing hard to turn favor for the DC Universe after this spring's unmentionable. While it has a cast packed with stars and recognizable faces, some of its characters are still unknown to the masses.

And wouldn't you know, here's a new set of character posters to get you acquainted! We've covered the film's building teases, but this is too poppy and fun to pass up.

Here are some thoughts...

Viola Davis: Superhero sounds like the summer blockbuster we actually need and deserve. Special powers include being flawless, cutting victims down to size with a single withering glance, and making the masses cry on cue. "Worst. Heroes. Ever. »

The Joker Gets Serious in New 'Suicide Squad' Photo

23 June 2016 7:05 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

Caesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger. These are names of actors who have portrayed the iconic Clown Prince of Crime in live-action. With each actor we've received a radially different interpretation. Romero's was off-the-wall and silly, Nicholson's was the equivalent of a mob boss, and Ledger's was a maniacal terrorist who just wanted to "watch the world burn."

Whoever followed up this legacy would have his hands full, and luckily for us fans, they turned to quite the talent to do so: Oscar-winner Jared Leto

What we've seen so far has been quite the interesting look. He's covered in tats, has a mean grill, and looks like a mix between a mob boss and the leader to a street gang. Some folks may roll their eyes at some parts of his look, and some have gone as to condemn it as an awful instance of disrespectful cultural appropriation, but either way, »
