- Known to have an attentive ear when it comes to choosing music in his films. In the film Thrashin' (1986), he used music by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fine Young Cannibals, and The Bangles. In the film The Last Horror Film (1982), he used a song by Depeche Mode for the opening credits, after hearing one of their early releases.
