Virginia Dale was born on July 1, 1917 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA as Frances Paxton. She was an actress, known for Holiday Inn (1942), Docks of New Orleans (1948) and The Singing Hill (1941). She died on October 3, 1994 in Burbank, California, USA.

Top Five Finalist and Preliminary Talent winner at the 1937 Miss America Pageant.
Younger sister, Joey Augusta Paxton, was Miss North Carolina 1941 and a runner up to Miss America.
Blond, blue-eyed Hollywood leading lady, initially trained as a dancer. On stage as one of the dancing Paxton Sisters (under her original name Virginia Paxton). Coaxed into acting on screen by Darryl F. Zanuck. Best remembered dancing opposite Fred Astaire in Holiday Inn (1942).
