Katie Findlay has joined the psychothriller that recently commenced principal photography in Toronto. La-based Moonstone Entertainment handles international sales.

Previously announced Enrico Colantoni, Stephen McHattie, Mark O’Brien, Alex Ozerov and Jennifer Dale star in the story of a traumatised artist who becomes haunted by her own graphic novel.

Chris Trebilcock wrote the screenplay and makes his feature directorial debut.

“After developing The Dark Stranger for more than five years, I’m tremendously excited and grateful to see the film come to fruition with such a distinguished cast and crew,” said Trebilcock.

Telefilm Canada and The Praxis Screenplay Competition developed the screenplay, which also took part in the National Screen Institute’s Features First programme and received the Brian Linehan Foundation Award. Telefilm and the Ontario Media Development Corporation assist with the production.
